I don't understand Steve's logic with his nominees. Double evictions are great times to get rid of a strong player when they don't have time to save themselves. Felt so shortsighted to put up non-threats like Jackie and Meg. If you want to destroy that group at least put up James and/or Becky.

I thought he was going to backdoor James. That would have been the best opportunity to get him out. Maybe he was looking at least threats to compete against Shelli when someone reenters the game.

I'm about to dive into a combination of the feeds and jokers updates to kind of figure out what the hell is going on. I think he just choked. He's so awkward and paranoid and seems to be in a completely different view from everyone else. He's the anti Johnny Mac, who - although he is almost as socially awkward as Steve - is awkward but also has a very disarming charisma.
I thought he was going tobackdoor James too.
Does Steve thinks he stands a better chance aligning himself with Vanessa, the twins and Austin, because they would get rid of him in a heartbeat. I think James, Meg and Jackie would be willing to work with him than that group.
Pretty much any two people other than Meg and Jackie would have been better choices. Anyone with half a brain - let alone someone who's been dubbed "the engineer" - would have taken the opportunity to get rid of Vanessa, James, Austin, Becky, or even one of the twins. Steve, I believe, is the perfect example of a "nerd" (aka outsider) who wants so desperately to be liked and accepted by the "cool" crowd, that they over compensate and bend over backwards in an attempt to fit in. He turned what is usually one of the most fun and exciting nights of BB, the double eviction, into a big snooze. I'm over him.
Okay, last night was the most bizarre episode of BB I've ever seen. Did anyone else notice when Steve won HOH, everybody ignored him and NOBODY talked to him or even approached him? It was so weird. Then the nominees seemed to signify a backdoor (I assumed it would be Becky). After that, nothing made any sense. Something must have happened earlier in the week (Jackie mentioned a misunderstanding) that made Jackie a target, but possibly Steve was strengthened in an alliance? Editing has been WAY off this season and the live episodes are always a total mystery.

The misunderstanding was that Steve thought Jackie wanted to make him a backdoor target when she was HOH, even though she wanted Austin to be her backdoor. Vanessa (surprise!) is the one that told him that.

I don't know why John and Steve would choose to work with Austin and the twins over Meg and James. Austin and the twins are a threesome that will never turn on each other. Especially since Austin is in Liz's pocket. They would have had a better chance. We'll see...
I've really grown to love Meg and James. I loves James' kitty hat. I really hope they stick around and one of them wins but I know that's a long shot.
Yeah, I can't understand the logic of Steve and Johnny Mac either. With the twins and Austin they are obviously on the bottom of the alliance, whereas with James and Meg they would have a better chance of going to the end.
James and Meg are very fun and if I were in the house I would rather be hanging out with them than Austin and the twins.
John, James and Vanessa are the only three left even in the running for being worthy of winning the money at this point.
I enjoyed the interaction between Jackie and Shelli and Becky gave a good interview with Julie. The crowd seemed to like her.

I've really grown to love Meg and James.
Me too! She bugged me like crazy at first but she's grown on me. James talks about being a hillbilly, but he's so cool and open-minded. He had a lot of kindness for Audrey, which I found endearing. He also said on the feeds a few days back that the next twist was going to be that Julie Chen was his birth mom, which I thought was really funny.
I agree that the two have become very likeable. I think James could win the 25,000 that they give out to America's favorite player.
Meg and James are a riot! Meanwhile, Vanessa has sort of become a cartoon of herself. And I really sorta like Julia. If Austin were out of the picture, I think Liz and Julia would be a lot more fun and interesting. And yeah, hitching your wagon to that threesome is playing for fourth place at best. It makes zero sense.
I really loved seeing Steve's parents and home town supporting him. It's too bad he has alienated himself for so long in the game. I'd love to see him and John surpass Austin and the twins. And I can't wait to see who gets back in the house! I really hope it's Jackie.
I hope it's Jackie too.. Unless Meg or James gets evicted next week.
OMG!!!!!! Ausfin's nomination speech!!!!! That was truly hilarious and my favorite moment of the season so far. The reaction of every houseguest was priceless. I rewound and watched it three times. WTF
^it was stupifying!
What are the chances if Vanessa actually getting backdoors? Lord, I hope so!

I guess Steve and J Mack's decision to align with Austin and the twins didn't work out so well...
That nomination speech (made by Judas, not Austin!) was hilarious both in its WTF-edness, but also in its total predictability. I mean, when it looks like this:
You basically have an idea of what it's going to say. It will be sincere, verbose, delusional in its poetic eloquence, nonsensical and unintentionally entertaining.
Here is the transcript...suitable for a framed sampler or perhaps a throw pillow:
"I'm conflicted. As a human being, I've always been conflicted. I think that life is meaningless and important at the same time. It's meaningless because we're all gonna die, but it's important because we're all living, we can love, and I can quest for knowledge because knowledge is power, right? Well, unfortunately those in power say what knowledge is, especially here. In week 5, I was supposed to be eliminated from this game. My fate was sealed. And if it wasn't for her winning a competition all by herself, I wouldn't be here, and I would've had no decisions to make. So now I'm not thinking just for myself. I'm thinking about her, too. I'm in an impossible situation this week. Johnny Mac and Steve, you were not a part what happened to me that week, so why are you guys on the block? You're victims just like I am, but unfortunately in life, victims, aren't we all? That's all I have to say."
The best part of the show will be when someone finally gets the idea to backdoor one of the twins (hopefully Liz), or when Liz and Julia finally decide to cut Austin loose...
I can't stand the twins.
Liz was so obnoxious while confronting John about tattling to Vanessa. The twins and Austin act like they own the house and everyone should bow and scrape to their every whim. Ugh.
Why does Vanessa seem surprised that she's "lower on the totem pole" with the threesome? Where did she think she ranked with Austin- about the twins? Anyone hitched to their wagon is playing for fourth place. If the house doesn't break this threesome up soon they will be going to the final three, and there's NO way one of the twins would take Austin over the other twin.
It would be nice to see Liz have to crash Austin by selecting Julia over him, but I pray it doesn't get that far.
If Vanessa were smart, she'd hitch her wagon to Meg and James and bring Steve along.
I hate the twins, too. Nothing but mean girls. Betcha they were a joy in hs.

Watching Liz and Austin "seal the deal". I just threw up a little.
