I have a really low pain tolerance, as in I almost passed out when I got my ears pierced in the fourth grade. I'd like to get second holes or a cartilage piercing because I like how they look, but I'm a little hesitant because cartilage is supposed to hurt much more. Is that true?

Like I said before, I also don't tolerate pain well. My friend did it recently, and she said that it doesn't hurt a lot when you first pierce the cartilage, or when you're actually doing it, but it gets very sore for a few weeks after. She said she couldn't even sleep on that side for quite some time.

The only piercings I have are earrings. I want a second hole, but I had so many problems with my first, that I don't think it's ever going to happen! Not to mention it's hard buying earrings because I have a really fat ear lobe!

Pierced tongues and eyebrows make me sick. It's really gross, and it probably hurts so much, I don't even want to think about it!

I have a tatoo of lips on my upper right arm. I think that's all I'll do-I'm too old now! Most piercings are unattractive to me, but I'm sure it's only a generational thing.

A few years back I was in a home depot and I saw an attractive young girl. When she turned her head, I was horrified to see that one half of her face was covered with some kind of black tattoo. What could she have been thinking when she did that to herself for life?

My daughter has her nose pierced...a little "diamond" stud. I like the way it looks; adds just a hint of an exotic air.

Like them or hate them? Love em, but tattoos should be sparse, I dont like sleeves or fully body tats.

Do you have any? I have two sets of earrings. I plan on getting a tattoo. and maybe a tongue ring. I think I wanna draw my own tattoo though, so its my own.

Citylights-

Yeah, piercing your cartilege hurts. A lot. First of all, depends how you do it- with a gun (like for earrings) or with a needle. I had it done with a needle cause it's safer and also I didn't want to mess with changing the earring all the time. Anyway, it's true that you can't sleep on that side for at least a few weeks.. My case is unusual, because it took about 6 months to heal completely (I have long hair and so it kept getting caught in it and getting infected- ouch), but I LOVE it and it was totally worth all the pain. I've had it for three years now and there hasn't been any problems since those first few months.

I recommend it, but beware- it's painful.

I am getting a tattoo...don't have any yet.
My birthday is in winter, so for the longest time I have wanted a snowflake. But I also love faeries, so I'm looking into a wintery faerie. Or maybe I'll get a faerie with snowflakes around her. I plan on getting it on my lower back (not in the center, but off to the side).
If any of you are artists, and would like to design something for me I would love to see. My email address is in my profile. re: re: Cartilege
I think tattoos are nicer when you can be discrete about them. I don't like when people have them staring you right in the face.

4 piercings, 3 tattoos.
Well, my eyebrow is retired. My tongue's pierced with an 8 gage bar...I have an industrial in my right ear (when the barbell goes from one end to the other), and my left ear's daith is pierced- pinch the hard cartilage on the inside of your ear right above the ear canal...it's a rare one. I used to have like, 10 earrings in each ear, but I took them all out so I could get those two and stretch my lobes to a 0 g. Yeah, just read all the EWWWs, don't need to hear it. I did it safely, myself, without tearing, and over the course of a year. It's not that bad...I can fit a pen through it.

Have a comedy/tragedy sign on top of a yin yang on my inner right ankle. That's my favorite. Japanese kanji symbol for strength on the back of my neck (kind of looks like a pi sign), and a shooting star on my foot. Looking forward to getting another tattoo soon!

Citylights -- don't listen.... Piercing your cartilege DOES NOT HURT. However, it is pierced by someone who has no clue what they're doing, yeah, it's gonna hurt.

I have 10 holes in my ears total. The cartilege hurt the least of all. The trick with any piercing is to always keep it clean. You're told when it's pierced to remember to spin it in the hole.... DONT do this unless you have already put your cleansing solution on your new piercing. If you do it dry, you're liable to tear the hole, thus making it hurt more. Remember, when any "wound" heals, it's going to heal around whatever is in it's way -- in this case, your earring.

If you can remember that simple trick, you'll have a very pain very experience

I pierced my own belly button and cartilage...the cartilage DIDN'T hurt whatsoever...and I didn't use ice. The belly button is gone, I took it out when I gained weight. Two holes in each ear. Had the eyebrow done, but took it out when I started teaching. Would love a SMALL diamond in the nose. I want a tattoo of a chain of flowers around my ankle, but scared of the pain. A G Clef on my lower back would be fun, too. I hate when people are covered in tattoos.

I had a navel ring for two years and it just never healed right. I finally gave up a few moths ago and took out the ring. I dunno, as a 35 year old man with a navel ring, maybe it looked abit sad anyway. I have two holes on my left ear and one on my right. Jimminey Cricket has been in my calf for 15 years and five stars on my bicep for about two years. I want a new tattoo.

I wanted to get the Eye of Horus (otherwise known as the Disney Aida symbol - from the show curtain) (which representative of 6 senses) on my upper arm or shoulder blade... but I'm too much of a coward.

I had two holes in my left ear, one is sealed up...

Can you put two parenthesis right next to each other? I think not.

I have two tattoos:

One on my lower back of comedy / tragedy masks. The other is an anklet of music (Seasons of Love from RENT).

If I ever get a piercing it'd be at the top of my left ear (Is that what you mean by cartilage? If I ever got a tattoo it would be a small Ninja turtle someplace not very visible. re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Cartilege
