Can you say stupid?

I'm twitching, if you couldn't tell.
I love the "He's only 12" excuse. I knew not to stick my gum on a painting long before I was 12. They should make the school/parents pay for the repair.
Yeah, 12 is not an excuse. 2, maybe. 12, no way.
Yeah, since most kids nowadays are parents by the time they're 12, it is definitely no excuse.
a textbook example for trying juveniles as adults and applying the death penalty to them.
Oh my. When I was 12, I knew not to do anything stupid like that, especially in museum or any other public place.
12 year olds know not to do this.

Bobby- that was great! haha
But seriously- let alone the actual action...the excuse was above and beyond ridiculous.
And his 25 year old mother.
Stupid.
Wow. Dumbass kid.
seriously. he did it on purpose. he knew exactly what he was doing.
Hah, his school is pretty close to where I live.
12 year olds DEFINITELY know better than this.
I can't believe the museum WOULDN'T sue. This is the reason kids feel like they can do any damn thing they want to.
God. His parent's punishment was probably something like "No Xbox for a week" or something pathetic like that. If he's 12 years old and thinks that is appropriate behavior, they probably aren't doing the best job raising him in the first place.
The museum should have made the kid do volunteer work picking up trash.
That's too nice. The kid should be paying for the painting - from the time he starts working his wages should be docked until it's paid for. Someone this bright, it might be his whole life -- so be it.
They probably reduced his allowance to 1,000 bucks a week.
That 12 year old is officially my hero! I can't even begin to count the number of times I've wanted to destroy something everyone else thought to be so great and just laugh in their faces. I'm some what of a sadist...
Sorry jasonf, I meant to include that his parents should have to pay for the damages. I just thought that from their "12 year olds don't understand" perspective, this would have been a completely appropriate punishment for the kid to learn a lesson, instead of letting him off completely.
I can testify to this "12 year old is not an excuse thing". I'm 13, and I would have NEVER EVER even think about doing something that stupid and immature.
if that was my kid i would have left him at the museum.
oh he knew all right. i heard afterwards he said, "let ol' helen put some thinner on that!"
