Some of these couples look identical.

I'd never want to date or sleep with someone who looks like me... :P

In the old days, in the sweater bars and piano locations, these couples were what we called "bookends".

I was getting judgey, but the number of times me and the first husband were confused for brothers is unsettling. He was, however, midgety, so there was at least that differential.

I feel a little narcissism is at play in these relationships. Yet, I am sure one loves a minuet and the other has the problem that a hotdog will make him lose control.

My boyfriend and I get asked if we are brothers (or twins) at least once a month. Often from homeless people, oddly.

A hot dog really does make them lose control...

What exactly is a sweater bar?

Wow, I have yet to have heard about this phenomena of sweater bars. I'm kind of glad I missed it, but still...curious.

A sweater bar was sort of the opposite of a leather bar, except with no dress code: boys with fluffy sweaters, sometimes cashmere, sometimes over their shoulders with the sleeves hanging down, like Michael in Boys in the Band.

Sounds DEEPLY TACKY. SO sad I missed it! I'm guessing this was an eighties phenom?

It ended in the 80s but they started referring to "sweater boys" in the 1950s, when everything was coded.
