Britney Spear's new video

Anyone watch it? there is a link on the yahoo main page (at least there is now so don't wait too long)

If you watch it from the point of view of her taunting her critics it's sort of cool! And I'm not the biggest fan but I liked it :)

Can anyone name a role she'd be good in?

I'm a (closeted) Britney Spears fan. And I don't think she'd be good in any role. Unfortunately, she ruined her voice over the years. It's sad. She is a dancer, so perhaps she'd be a great chorus girl?

The "Do Somethin'" video, right? It makes me sad...she could have been so great and innovative, but she chose to go cheap and trashy. Flying truck with Louis Vuitton seats, really bad choreography (that I heard she did herself), really scary facial expressions, and her who-ha all up in the camera. It just makes me feel bad for her, really. She's lost it.

maybe she'll be like Debbie (Deborah) Gibson, grow up some and mature, and then come back to something a bit more legit. i think she can dance, and before her voice got over-processed (like in the New Mouseketeers) she wasn't a bad singer at all. With the right vocal coaching, she might could have a later career. i never say never.

You know, I heard this song before it was played on the radio (right when it came out) and I really liked it..but the video was a bit out there. Didn't she supposedly co-direct it? I thought it was a little too out there for me. I think it could have been a more mature video, more organized-rather than an 8 year old girl's dream. Has anyone heard Britney's song, 'I've Just Begun (Having My Fun)'? If you like any of her other music (I mean like Toxic or anything), you'd like it. I think it's on her Greatest Hits album, but I may be wrong. It came out on one of her European CD's..

Im a huge Britney fan :ducks for flying objects: I met her in 2003 when her cd- In The Zone came out and I think like you all said the electro in her voice screwed her up but if she did take voice lessons it would only improve on what she once had and at one point she was off broadway in Ruthless as the understudy for Laura Bundy aka Amber in Hairspray and Understudy for Cheno in Wicked... If she did get some vocal training I think she could be a good Bway actor... maybe... I personally think the video is a tad out there... I mean come on.. a flying car--- its pop music not Herbie The Love Bug! And yes she did co/direct it... Somewhere I read she is writing a musical... wonder what that would sound like?

No, she isn't writing one. She talked about being *interested* in it, though. Britney used to have a big, Broadway voice. But after years of singing incorrectly (even though she supposedly had a vocal coach), she has hurt her voice. Perhaps with some training and patience, she can get a good voice back. Probably not a big, brassy, Broadway voice like when she was 8, but decent enough to no longer need computerized vocal effects on her records.

If Spears sang like she did when she was little, she could play Gladys Hotchkiss ("The Pajama Game"). Actually, she probably could still handle her songs.

Haha, has anyone taken the NBC Studio tour recently? That quote kinda reminded me of a clip they showed from Weekend Update: Amy Pohler (sp):
"Britney Spears recently reported that she will be rapping on her next album about the drama in her life. 'I can't wait to her that,' said nobody."

(not the exact quote-but close enough?)
