Britney's "Comeback"

Oh boy.

Goes onstage 2 hrs late, "performs" for 20 mins. (lip-synching everything), barely dancing (choreography courtesy of local high school cheer squad).

At least her wig stayed put!

Oh your so bitter.

I love Britney and was so glad to hear she performed.

I jumped up and down this morning with pure joy!

re: Britney's 'Comeback'

I really wanted her to have a comeback, but she has gone so far overboard that she will always be a joke now. Even if she returns with a killer single, which is unlikely, I think her time has passed. At least until she goes on the The Surreal World.

re: Britney's 'Comeback'

ahmelie: I was at a gymnastics meet with the wee one and some girl used that for her floor routine gymrat looked at me with great anticipation to which I replied "Over my dead body"...
...and yet, I secretly dance to that song and My Humps, which I loathe on principle, every time I hear them played. It's pitiful.

re: Britney's 'Comeback'

I'm a die-hard fan.
I won't give up till she gives up.

I am rooting for her to succeeded and prove the naysayers wrong.

Oh taz that's just sad. sad. sad. and oh, so true. She lacks the audacity or authenticity of Madonna unfortunately she has the kind of balls it take to reinvent herself. M

re: Britney's 'Comeback'

Britney will have a huge comeback. She will disappear, meet with a trainer, cut a new album, and get paid millions by all of the primetime shows for interviews about her recovery. She might even ghost write a book about her journey that she can talk about. The lady is far done-she sells mags and ad air time. Brit will rise from the ashes and the gays will be there to catch her.

re: Britney's 'Comeback'

I agree she would be a media sensation, but who would actually buy her album? Her fan base is grown, tweens have their own idols, and while gays would no doubt support her, it's a relatively small demographic.
I'm not anti-Britney at all. I have some of her records, but I'm saying she will probably be more of a celebrity curio that a bona fide presence in the record industry.

re: Britney's 'Comeback'

Britney may have a big comeback, but the question that I wonder about is: Does SHE want this? It would not surprise me at all if she announces retirement sometime in the near future.

re: Britney's 'Comeback'

I'm not anti-Britney at all. I was a fan, and I still occassionally listen to some of her music (mainly at the gym).

She will always be a media sensation, however I think the interest in her right now is for all the wrong reasons. Anna Nicole Smith was/is also a huge media sensation. What a great end to that story!

What really ticks me off is that people paid up to $150 for these seats (stupid, I know). Britney lip-synching for a mere 20 minutes is just a HUGE "F*** You" to all of the people who came out to see her.

Why is anyone still comparing her to Madonna? Britney would require a functioning brain to deserve such a comparison, at the very least.

re: Britney's 'Comeback'

I just saw pics on www.omgblog.com and the performance looks pretty pitiful. I love me some Brit, but it looks like a bad Pussy Cat Dolls show. Plus some of the pics show her not looking so fit with her bare midriff. Brit, please pull it together before you try to sell it again.

she should have at least acknowledged the crowd... for a girl of that mental capacity she should not have fired all of her handlers..

Just reading that made me want to puke. If she is crazy or not, isn't really an issue to me. My issue is that she can't sing, and yet she sells millions of records and its a billionaire. That I can't get. Oh, and she said she supported Bush also!

I'm not a huge fan of, and think she's more then a little crazy, but she might pull off a Mariah Carey comeback.

re: Britney's 'Comeback'

One thing that still drives me nuts about her is that not only does she lip-synch her way through the songs, but she lip-synchs to vocal tracks she recorded EIGHT YEARS AGO. She couldnt' at least do the smart thing and record new vocal tracks to use instead of the same tired "15 year old" whining from 1998. I mean it wouldn't be any better, but at least it wouldn't be so obvious.

re: Britney's 'Comeback'

Mariah Carey had a ridicoulously huge comeback. "We belong together" was a bigger success than any of her songs from her early career.
How can they see with sequins in their eyes?

re: Britney's 'Comeback'

Yes, the lip-synching, stripperella, whoring sea donkey thing is very, very 2001. If she's gonna come back, she's got to up the ante a touch.
