Broadway World's BAD Reputation

I read a bunch of other theatre/acting message boards, and on every one of them people are talking about BWW. It is known to have "horrible mean people" be "extremely clicky" and "everyone who posts there seems to hatefull to all new Broadway shows"

I'm not worried. And I don't need to step back, I hardly ever post around here any more. Just making a point. In fact one of the newest topics today was :

"Broadwayworld people are mean and nasty no matter what the topic is. Don't take it to heart. That place is evil"

Honey ,if you think that "All That Chat" is kind and gentle you are as wrong as ever.

This is the same old lament, this is a wonderful place, full of wonderful people, and regarding the "they" you speak of, do "WE" really care what "THEY" think, I mean are we getting graded?

And you have been quilty of being "hatefull" with some of your posts in the past too, be mindful of such blanket statements, or are you playing "Saint Joan" at present and gotten lost in the role?

I've been posting for over a year and I find this board and the various posters rather nice and informative. I enjoy reading what people have to say here both on the boards and through personal messages. I have been to another board and certain posters there tend to be rather opinionated and condescending.

One of those 'other' Boards (no names please) is VERY anal-retentive. You break ONE LITTLE GUIDELINE and they ZAP your account!

No warnings, no nothing.

Long Live BWW!!!--whenever people call other people "cliqey", they usually have low self-esteem because they feel excluded.

(I guess this might be a good time to mention that I'm really a Therapist?) :)

Very true. We are a very clicky group. The people who diss it just don't have the balls to jump in and take part in the fun. Also, if you don't like the people here, start your own group with people you do like. I don't post on Neo-Nazi groups anymore because the people started getting on my nerves. Easy as that.

You're also right about having the balls to break through the clique!

I remember a certain little poster who got kinda dissed when he first showed up--but was able to tough it up and stick it out!

The "black sheep castaways" from this site have bitter for breakfast.

And I'll stick with the entire group of passionate, supportive BWW members, who came out in force at Standing Ovations 2 and made the evening both full of magical fun and a smashing success in the fight against AIDS..."horrible mean people" indeed.

I find it interesting that this thread and support for these claims is coming from the person who has constantly made offensive comments--whether it be about Puerto Ricans or members of the transgendered community.
