This board is not for the faint-of-heart or the thin-skinned. Kind of like life, dearies. In the words of Joan Jett: "I don't give a damn about my reputation..."

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

I'm sure they posted once or twice and couldn't believe we actually talked about other things than Chita's wigs and Julie's voice.

Eddie beat me to pointing out the inherent contradiction in saying we have a bad reputation, and then contributing to the bad reputation by the author of this thread

Exactly jrb my lil' dahlink is right!

The people posting about how "mean" we are are disgruntled ex-members who's fragile egos got bruised, trust me on that one.

I'm so ready to rumble! Lord, with this tank of a computer they just plopped on my desk, I could probably tap into their system as easy as, well ... Phanty2. Not that I would.

PEOPLE, THE BOTTOM LINE IS THIS:

If I Think I Am Acting In a Proper Manner, What Do I Care What Others Say About Me? (Especially Behind My Back!!!)

It all seems like a lot of Junior High School Bullsh*t to me.

Well, I GRADUATED from Junior High School in 19--Oh, Skip It! :)

curious if the sites in question could be named. Might be interesting to see which old friends are chatting about us.

The world isnt peaches and cream and strawberries, unless in certain activities, but thats besides the point. Not everyone is sugary sweet. People on this site have established connections and inside jokes, and insecure people might find it hard or "scary" to just jump in and go for it. Tough skin folks, they need to develop it. You can't run into a corner and cry everytime something is a little mean or difficult. If a person likes it here, then they'll stay. If not then, I respectfully say to them, LEAVE. We're not forcing you to come here or post. And the fact that multiple sites are taking bandwidth to talk about us, highlights their low self-esteem.

The proof is in the puddin' darling

"I read a bunch of other theatre/acting message boards, and on every one of them people are talking about BWW. It is known to have "horrible mean people" be "extremely clicky" and "everyone who posts there seems to hatefull to all new Broadway shows"
The sad part is, all of that is true lately. I am loosing interest and will probably pull a Seany very soon. "

As JRB wrote, we'd love to know where these quotes came from. Surely you can source your material. If not, your post because a little bit, dare I say, suspicious.

It's like one person in an online thread saying to another person: "Get a life!"

Saying that BWW has a bad reputation is meaningless. As if any online forum has a "good" reputation...

Hey, newyorkuniq! Get a life.

Hey Sweetie...

You and I BOTH talked about those folks on other Boards having "low self-esteem."

Where we twins separated at birth? :)

Um...why do other boards talk about us at all? Do we ever talk about them? I feel like I'm back in middle school.

Well then, my board is cooler than your board...

I love BWW!!!

Why do we play with fire? Why do we run our fingers through the flame? Why do we leave our hands on the stove, although we know we're in for some pain? -tick...tick...BOOM!

This place is meaner than it used to be, I think, but not too mean. ATC is definitely nastier, and I've read some less-than-lovely things at Musicals.net and the rec.arts.theatre groups, too. I'm not saying that any one of these boards is better or worse than the other. It just so happens that this board is where I've found something of a place (greatly thanks to the OT board.)

Anyplace with real discussion is going to have negative comments as well as positive ones. But anyone who thinks that this board always has nothing but bile to spread hasn't been here long enough. Maybe because there's so few new musicals coming right now- it's pretty much just BKLYN and the jukebox creations- it looks like we sharpen our knives for everything that comes. Anyhoo, I don't care. I hope I keep my sense of perspective, but when I find that this board is going to hell I'll leave.

Sometimes posters leave you
Halfway through the wood
Do not let it grieve you
No one leaves for good.
They go to ATC.
