Well i was given a not to kind message from the robots(perfect in every way girls) and they said oh your trying out for peter pan... isnt he skinny... and any audition I go to they find out what it is and then go there too... and they complain and complain and complain! all about me... Im not big and im not skinny either... im the same size as sara ramirez and i have as big of a voice is hers... you know I've been told many times I can go far in show buiseness, but these girls tear me down every time! Their the teachers pets!.. but I think i know alot more about theatre then them... and my teacher notices it ALOT... which that is a good thing... a really good thing! but I really don't know... What should I do... i mean i've lost ten pounds because of it and it shows, but ikm still the fattest person ever... pics of me are at myspace.com/bamfgirl ... im not that big but as i've said before im not the skinniest person alive either.

Sammi!!! Please, please don't let them do this to you. I am a big girl. Not medium. Big. It's tough, and I'm working on it because I want to. Not for anyone else. For me. Do you want to lose weight? That's great, but do it only if you want to. Do you love your body the way it is? That's wonderful. I know what a struggle self esteem can be, especially in theatre, but you have to learn to love yourself. If you can't love yourself, than you will always allow others to demean you.
Feel free to PM me any time if you want to talk.

Posted: 9/1/06 at 11:19pmHey if they are following you and trying to bring you down then you must be something special and incredibly talented. Who are these girls to say you can't succeed? Obviously they haven't gotten too far, so how could they possibly know if you can succeed? To me, you do not look fat at all I think it's just those girls getting to you. Do not worry about them, in the long run your talent and your image of yourself is what really matters most.

Posted: 9/1/06 at 11:37pmwell the girls are robots... teachers pets have no flaw about them what so ever! its soo creepy just having your own name and theirs in the same sentence it really brings you down because you know your not perfect and all they do is make you feel worse about yourself... they seem sweet, but locking in a basement is far from sweet... they didnt want me to audition for a campo but i climed through a window and got to the audition on time... and i got the best solo that everyone wanted... so perfect i think not but to everyone eklse im a HUGE flaw compared to them and i hate comparing myself to them but everyone else does... but iu guess thats life!

if they locked you in a basement, then they're not perfect, they're mean. and people will start realizing eventually (even if it's after you graduate high school), and they will continue to get less and less jobs as word gets around that they're difficult. unless you're a HUGE star, you can't afford to be difficult because there are always 10 girls who could easily take your place.
and i agree with aspriring. if you want to lose weight, lose weight. do it for yourself. if showing these girls your strength is a motivating factor, let it push you harder, but don't let it be the only reason.

Posted: 9/2/06 at 1:28pmFrom looking at your pics, you're not fat. AT ALL. I don't know where you got the idea you were! But you look fine, and you shouldn't let those other girls bring you down, because then they'll just keep going.

Posted: 9/2/06 at 2:55pmThe reason why people tear down others that way is because they, themselves, lack self-esteem.

Obviously the girls know you're talented, and they're extremely jealous. Locking you in a basement is insane. No one in their right mind would ever do that. But, for real, your weight is not an issue at all. I know it's lame to quote this like, for real, but it's so true: "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer."
If you keep being super nice to them, and things like that, but work 37281362614174t838213471+e times harder than they ever could, teachers will notice and you'll be happy with the turnout. I've experienced things like this, and the best thing to do is keep your head up, be kind and work your ass off.
But, if they lock you in the basement again, we'll assemble a BWW crew and lock them in lockers. Word.

They say it's not over until the fat lady sings. So therefore there must be a place for the Spamalotdivas and aspiringactresses of this world in every show! Long live the saying! Good luck.
Hell, the whole story of Hairspray is you guys!
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Posted: 9/2/06 at 6:13pmWhen you look at most shows, there is always room for all body types. There are some roles that you wouldn't be cast in, but there are also roles that skinny people would never get cast in either! If you are comfortable with your weight, then flaunt it! As long as you are able and healthy, you are fine. And never listen to people who try to put you down, they are just insecure with themselves. Good luck!

I say as long as your healthy, flaut it. I really wish I had curves.
. Anyway if your talented someone will notice that, while they may not cast you right away chances are you will catch someone's eye.

You're very attractive! I would say you're in the "Katie Clarke" category as far as looks go. If you lost 20 lbs. that wouldn't hurt? You would probably be offered more roles. However, you aren't necessarily fat. Like I said, very attractive. Your face and eyes stands out. You can lose the weight easily? I mean, just watch your carbs and jog 30 mins everyday. You can do it in a month very easily. The fact that you've lost 10 pounds already speaks volumes of you. That's more than most people. It's just baby steps. I went from 250 to 150lbs. in a year so I know how it goes with being fat in Theater.
Besides, you're 14 years old! Right now, it's not a problem. You look absolutely fine. If weight is still an issue with you when it comes time for college auditions? Then focus. But my advice is to keep developing your voice and acting skills. Body image can be easily solved, but talent. Harder to develop.

Posted: 9/2/06 at 11:20pmYeah, that's the process that I'm going through now. I began seeing a nutritionist, and I'm dancing more and jogging. You'd realy be amazed at how much better it feels to be healthy. I say focus on your health.

you're 14?! I thought you were at least 17...I guess you also look older, whereas the other girls (who suck cough) probably look young and immature. Because...well they are!
I went through a whole weight thing too. It was more of an eating disorder though. I'm over it now, but it took a lot of hardwork and believing in myself to get rid of it. It was tough, but I knew what I had to do, I kept my sights focused on my goal and I achieved it.
Believing in yourself is key, and it seems as if you're there already, so just keep up your spirit and don't let other people get to you

Posted: 9/4/06 at 12:05amI know exactly how you feel. You're not alone. Weight struggle is such a difficult thing, especially in our society- with the media focused on underweight actresses and singers, but there are plenty of other people out there like you. Hope that helps!
