"Today's decision is yet another example that this Administration simply considers itself above the law. This case arose from the Administration's politicization of national security intelligence and its efforts to punish those who spoke out against its policies. Four years into the Iraq war, Americans are still living with the consequences of this White House's efforts to quell dissent. This commutation sends the clear signal that in this Administration, cronyism and ideology trump competence and justice."
Senator Harry Reid:
"The President's decision to commute Mr. Libby's sentence is disgraceful. Libby's conviction was the one faint glimmer of accountability for White House efforts to manipulate intelligence and silence critics of the Iraq War. Now, even that small bit of justice has been undone. Judge Walton correctly determined that Libby deserved to be imprisoned for lying about a matter of national security. The Constitution gives President Bush the power to commute sentences, but history will judge him harshly for using that power to benefit his own Vice President's Chief of Staff who was convicted of such a serious violation of law."
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi:
"The President’s commutation of Scooter Libby’s prison sentence does not serve justice, condones criminal conduct, and is a betrayal of trust of the American people. The President said he would hold accountable anyone involved in the Valerie Plame leak case. By his action today, the President shows his word is not to be believed. He has abandoned all sense of fairness when it comes to justice, he has failed to uphold the rule of law, and he has failed to hold his Administration accountable."
Ambassador Joe Wilson:
"From my viewpoint, the president has stepped in to short circuit the rule of law and the system of justice in our country. In so doing, he has acknowledged Mr. Libby's guilt for, among other things, obstruction of justice, which by definition is covering up for somebody in a crime. By commuting his sentence, he has brought himself and his office into reasonable suspicion of participation in an obstruction of justice. The commutation of (Libby's) sentence in and of itself is participation in obstruction of justice."

According to the Washington Times, everyone in the neighborhood knew that Valerie was an agent in the CIA.
Let's back up: In July 2003, Joseph Wilson wrote an op-ed for the New York Times in which he accused the Bush administration of manipulating pre-war intelligence on Iraqi weapons of mass destruction, under the title "What I Didn't Find in Africa." He claimed that he had reported to the Administration that he'd debunked claims about Iraq shopping for uranium when he went to Niger to investigate. His account wasn't accurate, the administration was furious, and reporters and administration officials began gossiping about why Wilson, a retired ambassador, was put on such a mission in the first place. The answer was that his wife Valerie Plame worked for the CIA and recommended him, and Bob Novak reported as much in his column later that month.

HD, Valerie Plame is a hero. She was outed by Bush and his cartel because this is how they treat those who turn on them. You are defending someone who tried to harm a patriot and that makes you someone who hates thier country. Spin as much as you want. Thats how it is. Mis-speak all you want and cater fact to fit your advantage, its what you do. Its what the Republicans do. You just don't get it. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Your loyal to your party but NOT YOUR COUNTRY! You do as your told and follow the first rule and thats ALWAYS support Bush no matter what.

Only one source can confrim or deny Valerie Plame Wilson's status: The CIA. They rarely if ever discuss an agents status for any reason, but this lie spread by you & your ilk is so heinous that they did indeed confirm her status:

WASHINGTON - An unclassified summary of outed CIA officer Valerie Plame's employment history at the spy agency, disclosed for the first time today in a court filing by Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald, indicates that Plame was "covert" when her name became public in July 2003.
Plame worked as an operations officer in the Directorate of Operations and was assigned to the Counterproliferation Division (CPD) in January 2002 at CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.
The employment history indicates that while she was assigned to CPD, Plame, "engaged in temporary duty travel overseas on official business." The report says, "she traveled at least seven times to more than ten times." When overseas Plame traveled undercover, "sometimes in true name and sometimes in alias -- but always using cover -- whether official or non-official (NOC) -- with no ostensible relationship to the CIA."

HD there is only one source who can say if Plame was Covert. THe CIA. And they said she was. Case closed. You can sight anecdotes all day, but facts are facts.
