I also hasten to add - gingerly, lest I inadvertently offend someone else - that by trying to glom (glam?) on to someone else's thing (kind of like how the first day they chose for this was MLK day), the difference between A Day Without A Gay and A Day Without a Mexican is that A Day Without A Mexican was to show how the things could come to a halt when you don't have the poor saps willing to do the sh*t jobs people don't want to do. Not that there aren't gay busboys and dishwashers, but you get my drift.

Phyllis, that's what I was hinting at earlier. The Mexicans are one ethnicity. You notice when any specifically identifiable group suddenly isn't around.
But us 'mos come in all colors, shapes and sizes. So how do we expect people to notice?

That would be the only fun part of this- if I worked in a big office, I'd go desk to desk checking who missing and then send out a mass E-mail: "Today is "Call in Gay Day!" and Bob, Tony, Eddie, Varla and Mr Harrington called in!"

Another amusing thing is the name. You call out sick, not in.
But I guess they didn't want to call it Call Out Gay Day lest people misinterpret and start outing everyone.

You call out sick, not in.
I guess it depends on where you are. I have heard of "calling in sick" forever.

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

Yeah, I've always heard call in as well. You are calling in(to work to say you are) sick.

I didn't call in gay, but I did spend the whole day talking to my girlfriend and listening to P!nk while there. That's as gay as I get.

And if your boss asks and you lie and don't tell him, isn't that defeating the purpose?

Best line of the day is on the main board.
In response to the thread about Liza canceling tonight's performance because she's "sick"--the poster named West Village posted "Maybe she called in gay."

Byron, it doesn't bother me at all. I did read your part about the KKK. Doubletree Hotels/Hilton Hotels is under no obligation whatsoever to remove their logo from that video.
This whole thing about "calling in gay," is so pointless and incredibly immature.
