I love shows and movies in black and white-the fact the recent Oscar-winning "The Artist" paid tribute to this concept was delightful. I own the original Miracle on 34th Street with the option of it being in either color or B&W, and I refuse to watch the former. No need to mess with what already works just fine on its own.

The worse was when Turner, again, I believe (?) colourized a ton of classic animated shorts (I believe some Warner Bros ones, Poppeye ones, etc.) What they did was they farmed out the cartoons to some foreign studio where people would then trace the original frames (however at 12fps not 24) and colour those. Huge mistakes were often made. As a kid, that was all that was available to see many of these great shorts. Here's a side by side example:

I really didn't care either way before this. I think colorization, in general, is a non-issue for me...and then I saw that CLOWN RED HAIR! UGH! What where they thinking???

I have to say that I like the sharpness of the picture. This print brings out a clarity that I haven't seen before.

And I also have to wonder, why is Ethel always leaning on people? In this clip she leans on Fred, in other episoes she leans on Ricky. Was that a character choice or something specific to Vivian Vance?

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
