If you have not heard of CHARICE, you are in for countless hours of listening to this up and coming singing star. She has been discovered in youtube and her videos first appeared around late 2007. Since then, her popularity has increased and she has already sang with the likes of Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion. David Foster and Oprah have taken her under their wings and have great plans for this little girl.

The videos that started it all. It was the first video that got her noticed by the Korean show and it was when she guested in that Korean show that got David Foster's, Ellen's and Oprah's attention:

I could go on and on. There are literally hundreds of videos of her singing different songs from when she started singing at 9 up to the present.

She is being managed now by David Foster and Oprah. Foster said that Oprah really loves this girl and that they are both determined to make her 'the next big thing'. She has started working with Foster on her debut album which he said will be out before she turns 17 years old in May. Originally, he said that he will produce her first album when she is 18 already but I guess he thinks she is ready now.

BTW, this is the COMPLETE VIDEO of the Madison Square Garden duet with CELINE DION. This is a lot better than the one aired in Oprah because it includes the introduction and crowd reaction. Very touching performance!!!

I don't understand what you are talking about. This thread is about her so I just made it easier for people who have not heard about her to just click on the links I provided instead of going to youtube and going through all those crappy videos there that do not do her any justice. I assume you have heard about her already but for others who have not seen and heard her yet, the links I have provided represent what I think are the best videos that show how talented she is as a singer.

So in this sense, how am I doing her any 'disservice'? On the other hand, I am trying to expose her talent to others. If that is your interpretation, then just ignore this thread. Simple enough to understand, right?

She's friggin AMAZING! haha

like.. people on American Idol try and sing those huge Whitney/Mariah/Celine ballads and fail miserably, and yet she actually does them DARN justice! Crazy!

The only thing I will say is that sometimes her accent gets a little strong while she's singing, but other than that... I'm extremely impressed :)

She has a good voice but I can't watch her sing lol. Theres something about her when shes singing that turns me off. I can listen to her though. LOL

Miyam thank you for the you tube links. I love the gal and was blown away the first time I saw her do "I'm Not Going", I think that's the title.

I just watched the first video to refresh my memory.

Sometimes she sings in a very low register and it sounded forced to me. Other times, she's trying to belt, but it sounds like yelling to me. I guess I'm not a fan after all.

What I meant was a lot of the Charice videos on youtube are not worth listening to because of the inferior audio quality. Anyway, Charice is one of those singers who sounds much better LIVE.

Wow! I've never heard of Charice before but she sounds pretty good. It seems at times that she pushes quite hard, I agree with whoever said she seems to "yell" parts of the songs. I think it's great she's working with David Foster, though, there's great "raw" material there and she's a way better singer than I'll ever be lol kudos to her!

I think I'm one of the only people who don't think she is all that great. She can sing, but I've worked with and have friends who are SO MUCH BETTER!

Charice does have an amazing voice, although I find it kind of hard to listen to people sing when I can't understand what they are actually singing. She has some serious chops though
