They're rescheduling? With all those perfformers already signed on? Wow.
Morning, all! I second, third and fourth the awesomeness of Shamey vote.
Good morning peepers!
Glad I hadn't bought a ticket.
Welcome back Shamey!
BroadwayWorld.com announced today the rescheduling of its Standing Ovations V benefit, originally scheduled for Town Hall on November 1, 2009 to a date to be revealed later for the Spring of 2010.
"Though we were decently sold for '3 weeks out' in today's economy", said Robert Diamond, the event's producer, "I've been fielding calls day and night, from some of the more than a dozen charitable events that were scheduled for the same timeframe and with the charities themselves, telling us that BroadwayWorld.com's devotion to its own benefit, had been harming our normal aggressive promotion of their events - yielding sluggish sales all around.
In this time and economy, when all of these very worthy organizations need help more than ever, and with additional events for Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS scheduled in the same week, we decided to move our concert forward.
I'd like to extend my personal thanks to all of the performers and musicians who have agreed to work with us on this event, all of whom I sincerely hope are able to join us on the new date."
Full refunds are being provided through ticketmaster.com and point of purchase for all ticket buyers, and a new date and theatre will be announced shortly for the rescheduled benefit.
LOL! Sunshine knows me too well.
But, at times like this, the extra love from my peeps is greatly appreciated.

OK, maybe it's just my skeptical side, but that reasoning seems....strange. I had seriously considered making the trip up, though it would have been hard on that particular day. Glad I didn't commit to a ticket, hotel and/or Amtrak reservation.
Actually, Moony, it's true - 'tis the season of benefits, all competing for the same dollar.

So BWW blinked first? Oh dear - I hope they didn't put down a non-refundable deposit on the venue. On a happier note, maybe their spring 2010 date will be easier for me. Because it's all about me. It just SEEMS to be all about the other charities.
Personally, I think they bit off more than they could chew in having it at Town Hall. Sure the show always sold out quickly at Joe's Pub, but look at the difference in size of venues.
They overshot.
Morning kids.

I'm happy about this of course being I had to get rid of my tickets because I won't be here. Hopefully I will be around now for the new scheduled show. Do you think I have to call Tocketmaster for the refund or do they automatically do it? I haven't rec'd an email from them yet.

I don't know about Tocketmaster, but Ticketmaster makes you mail the original tickets back in order to get a refund. At least that's what they did when I had tickets to the March 3 performance of Gypsy.
Thanks Minny

Moony, I remember you had tickets to what was supposed to be the final performance of GYPSY last year, and had to exchange. Too bad for all those "perfformers" who were put out of work two months early.
Yea Dtwo...seems nothin' was coming up roses for them.

Perfformers are in a different union than performers.
I always had to send them back, too. I'd call and see what they want you to do.

I really, REALLY need to pop up to NYC. I miss you guys too much. Oh, and I hear they have some theatres up there, too.
Moony...I just set a special ringtone for whenever you call me...I bet you can't guess what it is
:::sigh::: Since the tickets are in my possession, I guess so. Unless they want info I won't have, I'll give it a shot. I was looking forward to spending time with Karen, too. :::sigh:::
Yes, you do, Moony.
ETA: I'm hoping it's Minnie Ripperton!

Well, at least if I'm calling you, I won't be around to hear it. I'd have to smash the phone, you know.
