Stay safe everyone.
Zander does not approve of this weather.
And Moony -
And a Tinkerbell will get to be there that time too!!!!
I hope you didn't actually go out in this, moony, but I understand. I made sure to pack up all that type of stuff to bring home with me on Friday.
I love that my CEO sends out e-mails about being able to work from home tomorrow, like it is something he is doing generously. dude, we are getting a direct hit for a hurricane!
Been texting with the bro this morning. He's keeping an eye on everything happening here online, from his safe haven in Indiana. Where he used to live in NJ, has been evacuated.
My Goddaughter and her family had mandatory evac yesterday. For Irene, they had optional. They live in Neptune and Shark River is a block and a half away from them. They're at her in-laws.
As of right now, there's only one way out of my town. The bridges over the Raritan.
I'm just finishing up laundry. Figured I'd better get caught up, while I still have power. NOt that I'll be going anywhere anytime soon, but...

I'm with you. I've showered and been on a cleaning tear in between e-mails.
I did laundry yesterday... get it done and out of the way.
Our company email was kind of the same, Tink. It was almost as if they reluctantly agreed to let us work from home. Who cares that the office is in Zone A, which is evacuated, and there is no transit and our area is going to be hit hard. So kind of the corporate chiefs, no?
Moony, don't be a hero for work.
I actually can't get alot done for work because some of the systems we need to pull info are shut down. So, I'm just checking email and trying to think about things that will have to get done when we're up and running. Right now I'm having my second cup of coffee and watching TV. (Although I may have to switch off this storm coverage soon...)
This is actually a good day to get some houseshold projects done.

Made it to the office just fine and have the boss' credit card in hand. Now to order stuff before we lose internet!
I did laundry last night and made a casserole and soup - which was not too bright if we lose refrigeration. Duh. A cake would have been a smarter choice.

That's why I baked cookies.
Get home safely, Ms. Moony! And have fun ordering!
Stay safe everyone and batten the hatches. This storm is big I will see the effects tonight to a lesser extent.
Hope everyone is generally well, tropical cyclones execepted.

Can't help thinking of you all through this ordeal. Stay safe, everyone.
Kansas and Q! How wonderful to see both of you stop by!
Kansas, I know the storm is heading north, so hope you're prepared as well.
Q, you've been missed. I hope all is well in your world. Send some warm sunshine our way.
The wind is picking up. I'm cautiously eyeing the plants on the terrace across the street from me. Hope they're heavy and well secured.
My lights have flickered, but so far all is ok. Glad I have a safe place to be, and don't have to be out in this. The flooding and wind have already shut down part of the FDR, and there are plans to close the tunnels and bridges.
Well, look who the wind blew in.
LOLOLOLOLOL!!! I didn't even think when I typed that. And now, I'm cracking myself up!!
Just got another text from the Police that another road in town is closed due to flooding.
I had to turn the channel. I have I Love Lucy on now.
I called our emergency hotline last night, and it was updated at 6 PM that all of our NJ locations would be closed. They rarely do that, so I was surprised. I had no intention of schlepping up there in this anyway. Most of us have the capability to work from home, so I've got the laptop up and running, but it's really slow. Right now, I'm sure they're concentrating on re-routing calls and making sure we're prepared for Emergency restoration when this is all over.

Girly, you're making me laugh.
The rain is starting up again here. The fencing on the roof of an apartment below mine just blew down. I keep watching a skinny little tree across the street try to stay standing. It's completely bent over. I hope it just keeps bending! Poor sweet little tree.
Odd - the title changed... I guess we were excited to see Q!
And, hi brd! I guess today we'll take the title of Windy City!
I had to share this from Best12bars on FB!
It's scary to see some towns around here already flooded and the rain hasn't even been bad here yet. This does not bode well. I knew we'd flood but thought we'd have a bit more time......
Somms, that's great.
Tink, I know. This early flooding is really daunting.
SOMMS - I cant tell you how awesome that is - I had to share it with my friend, because somehow drunkenly my nickname became "Sandy Pants" years ago......
I didn't change it.

OK, I'm bored with this storm.
And to all you thread visitors today:
Do you have any D batteries?
I don't even have a flashlight. Except for the one on my phone, which I love.
I officially can't get out of my town after 4:00 today.
