Hardly, Brd. I have to say, though, that in general the women held up a lot better than the men. I suppose cosmetics has a lot to do with that.
Nice birthday gift for C18!

Simple - moisturizer. Men generally do not use it!
Also a practical gift - I would like her to have a good phone for college. I am the only one in the family without a iPhone.
Happy Monday Adults. Off to Orlando tomorrow so today is the only day in the office. Time to repack everything I washed over the weekend.
Have fun Moony!
Brd - Congrats.
Jungle - I used to live in Davis, we used to hang out at Lake Beryessa (sp) and I loved the side trips to Napa.

We will likely be as hot and humid as Florida tomorrow!
Have a "fun" trip!
What a freakin' morning.
My boss never did the annual building access approval (for any of his direct reports), so I couldn't get onto the property this morning, let alone in the door. Had to back up, and go into the lane where the guard should be (but wasn't). Luckily they have a camera thing so I could show my I.D. card to the guard sitting inside the building, who then activated the gate to let me through. When I got inside the building, had to show my I.D. thru another camera, to be let into the actual building. Way too much work/nonsense for a Monday morning.

You should leave him a note: "If you don't want me to come to work today, just say so!"
I was wondering if I got fired and someone forgot to tell me!!

Good morning, kiddies. It's good to know that apparently I am invaluable. I think.

When you finish with those emails, SOMMS, we'd love to hear about your trip to Tennesee.
Good morning, all!
Happy Hump Day, kids.
Yet another retirement party this evening.
Stay cool!
Why are you ignoring us?!

Read back a few posts, cuz. I second Girly's question!
But, she never asked; you did.
We were in the first group so we got to see all of the appraisers arrive. Sort of red carpet-ish. Saw Leigh Keno (met him before), Colleene Fesko, Nicholas Dawes, David Rago (I've socialized with him and his wife) and many, many more of the usuals. We did not have a Mark Walburg sighting -- it was 7:30 in the morning, so didn't expect that to happen. If it makes the air, we were in the line screaming, "Welcome to the Antiques Roadshow in Knoxville, TN!" We may have also been in some of the shots during the appraisals -- it's hard to tell where that camera is pointing. My 1958 art poster by Franz Kline (purchased for $40, twenty plus yeas ago) is worth $1,400. It was appraised by Nicholas Lowry (he of the crazy plaid suits). My English porcelain teapots and biscuit jar (purchase price -- about $50) was deemed "rare" by David Lackey, but not valuable --about $350. Tim's North Carolina Mill team baseball photo's, gloves and signed ball were valued at around $1,000 for the lot. Leila Dunbar was hoping that one of Tim's relatives (three in the photo's) had made the major leagues. That would have got him on TV. She was a blast to talk to! His other piece, an English, gentleman's pipe stand made of horn, oak and silver, stumped the appraisers. They didn't know what to do with it. It was eventually given a value of $250, but we all knew that was way off. We met a lot of people in line and had lots of fun. It's all very organized and moves very quickly -- but, we were early in the day. Some people bring some real junk. One woman had a huge carnival teddy bear. What was she thinking?
Does that satisfy you, Girly?

$1,400? Wow! Now you'll have to get it insured!!!
Sounds like a great time! I hope we get to see you in the final cut. Did they say when it would likely air?

Thanks for the narrative! Great time!
Mooney - room mate assignment NOT GOOD! She is scantily clad in EVERY selfie FB profile pic. AND TATOOS GALORE! C18 is not happy. I am not joking that you could assume that she is a stripper.
They said they would announce the air dates in November.
The best part of the trip was a stop in Clinton, TN. It's a Mayberry-esque town of nothing but antique shops. The shop owners where a hoot and we got lots of loot!

Brd - yikes!!! I guess this wouldn't be a good time to tell you about the moonchild's freshman year slutty roommate, huh?
SOMMS - what a great find (the town)! Sounds like a wonderful trip. By the way, when I was in Bowie this weekend I drove by the Senior Center. Had it been earlier in the day, I would have popped in and introduced myself to Cousin Sister.
She would have loved it. And, offered you a membership brochure. RUNS ........
Watch it kids, I WAS the slutty freshman roommate.
True. I didn't specifically ask, but re-read Moony's post:
"When you finish with those emails, SOMMS, we'd love to hear about your trip to Tennesee."
Operative word there is "WE'D"!!!
Sounds like a fab time!!

G'morning from a drizzly but cool Pacific Northwest. Leaving in a little while for L. A. for show # 2.
We had dinner w/ DD and Js last night; wonderful, of course. It looks like there's interest in my work from more than one party out here. When I mentioned this to DD, he got very territorial. Grrrr. I feel like a bone between two dogs. Two very talented dogs.

I would say two dogs are better than one, but we have a houseguest dog for 21 days!!!!!!
Congrats otherwise!
