G'morning.
Our "Holiday Gathering" will be at next Thursday's department meeting. We bring our own. No booze.
And did I mention that it will be while we're discussing (still) yesterday's presentation by the GD Curriculum Committee?
Which didn't go so well...
This one is writing itself!
I'm off today. It was supposed to be a day for appointments and getting things done, but, I've been sick for 2 days so it's likely going to be another frustrating non-productive day at home. I missed my concert Wednesday night, too.
I do have an appointment at 10am to look at a possible place to live during my renovations. Right now I just want to pull the covers over my head and make everything go away.
But, other than that, happy Friday to all. I so wish it was last weekend!
ps - I wonder if I can start a campaign to ask strangers to give me money for my renovation? I deserve to have nice things, right? Me,me, me, me, meeeeeeeee!
(That wedding donation thread is a thing of beauty!)
Our Department party is tonight -- dinner, with beer and wine. NOT GOING!
Our Division party is next Tuesday -- desserts during lunch. HELL YEAH!
Our Office party is the following Friday -- Pizza at lunch with a Wacky gift exchange. GOING!
I do a team pizza lunch with a wacky gift exhcange for my team, too.
We call it the Winona Ryder gift swap - because you can steal a gift from someone.

Too funny, Addy!
So sorry you've been ill. I guess better this week than Christmas week, though. I hope the temp housing turns out well. You should "gift" yourself with a vacation home in 2013!
We could fundraise for an Adult Smoking Thread vacation! A cruise around the world? We deserve it. We should have it. It's our dream. We've been talking about it for a long time... people should understand it's their job to make it happen for us!
Good morning! Addy, so sorry you're under the weather. At the moment I have a sinus infection. Your post about wanting to set up a donation page for your kitchen renovations made me laugh.

Hi Dottie - it's so nice to see you stop by! Sorry about your sinus infection. We all need to take better care of ourselves!
What do you want, Dottie? We can fundraise for you, too!

Too bad we can't claim to be raised by single moms. I's going to be hard to play on people's sympathies.
Dottie - I think you should hold a bake sale for the Addy Vacation Plan.
We can steal too, Addy. That's how I got the good bottle of Champers last year! Byatch I stole it from still doesn't speak to me. Which is exactly why I took it from her.
Addy, I have my eye on a 3 bedroom condo. I should expect that people would want to help me out with my down payment at least!
Bluemoon, a bake sale isn't such a bad idea. I'll just have to come up with a name for the "charity". LOL

There's the charity: Help 3 deserving people FIND A HOME!

Bless you, my child.
And, since Dad's been gone for 10 years now, I'm going to lay claim to having a single mom.
Well then I'm an orphan.
Better yet, twice the money!
SOMMS, that definitely sounds legit!
I did a bunch of shopping yesterday at work, and Amazon has been a point and click savior.
Happy Friday Adults.
Addy, I hope you are feeling better.
The stone fell out of my ring - I guess that justifies a trip to the jewelry district next week!
Get an internet fund going to pay for it, YWiW.

Morning.
Feel better soon, Addy!
I can lay claim to having been raised by a poor, overworked, underpaid civil servant father, right? Granted, he didn't take over full time until I was 14, but...does that really matter?

Not anymore. Go for it, Girly.
Hell, my parents lost interest in me when I was six and I'm a civil servant. I should rack up.
My father worked 3 - 11, and when he was home he hid in the basement. I hardly ever saw him. That qualifies my mother as a single parent, right?
My mother is ...
That is enough for a fund.
