"Avoid large gatherings..."
You'll have to cancel some of the boys.
Damn Moony, I think you're right
Boobs/SOMMS: be careful. Please.
Moony, that was lovely.
Deet, I always use protection so no worries
Huh, what? Don't mess with my vacation!
Poddie, I think our friends better make sure that the bail fund is ready.
Nothing says wake-up like a little earthquake at 4 AM. Just a wee baby 4.4, but it is better than an alarm clock.
Happy Tuesday Adults.

Was it enough to wake you up, YWIW? I assume there was no damage.
Yep - got up, walked around a bit, tried to determine whether I needed to wrangle the cats into carriers (which I would do for a big one), made sure my flashlight was where I thought it was, saw it was over, and went back to sleep for a couple of hours.
And, no damage. Hopefully it was enough to release pressure and do nothing more.

It's what woke me up, as well - but I couldn't go back to sleep.
The only damage I know of is a small crater on I-5.
Not to be outdone by you boys and your Thai trips... We've decided on Thailand for October. Khao Lak, we think. We think this is where we're going to be: http://www.merlinphuket.com/khaolakmerlin/index.html
I just love the attitude of folks who are used to earthquakes. "No damage. I went back to bed." lol I would have needed adult diapers.
JG2 it looks gorgeous! You'll be very happy on Phuket...the beaches are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen!
JG2 - what a beautiful place to celebrate your new life!
And, with all of the quakes going on around the world, I was kind of expecting something to happen in SoCal. And, I was not at the epicenter - it was about 15 miles away. Maybe it would have been a bigger deal if it was closer.
I do recall being a kid and being at a neighbors house when his dad was under the house as an earthquake hit. He popped out after the quake like nothing had happened.

Ummm...what was he doing under the house? Looking for the ruby slippers?
No, he was searching for his little dog!
I've been thinking the same thing, YWiW - New York is built on a fault line and we've had a few earthquakes, minor ones but nonetheless... with all this seismic activity I'm a little nervous.
Deet, they actually had this on the news the other day. They don't believe NY will have a major earthquake in over another 100 years. So no worries...we'll be dead and gone by then.
Thanks, Boobs. That's reassuring.
Glad that I could help. Seems as I get older I watch the news more.
Howdy Kids!

Hey there! I just read the most fabulous email. really made my day. Maybe my week.
howdy folks!
About 15 year ago there was a 7.2 quake in CR the day I arrived for Christmas vacation; an hour later we were packing the car and leaving for the beach.
Still home ... coughing, might have to go to work in the afternoon though. Ran out of sick and vacation time. But I get to play here for a bit!
