Between that and the river dumping story, Boobs, you're getting a (new) reputation.
It seems like a crappy one, Moony.
Must be all that Psyllium.
That must be it Shames. Well, I hope JG2 gets back soon with those bagels...I'm starving!
Aww, you didn't have to change it. I was just playin'!

Moony, is Maria Malin your pen name? I found this article that you had to write.
Malin: Italian eyes are smiling as St. Joseph's Day approaches
March 18, 2010
By MARIA Moony MALIN Contributing Columnist
As the world around me donned festive green attire Wednesday, I stood before my closet pondering my choices for something "red" I'd wear Friday.
Indeed, I'm gearing up for one of the biggest days of celebration in my Italian heritage. (That would be March 19 and St. Joseph's Day for the unfortunately uninformed.) A day to eat, eat, and eat some more. A day to cover a long, bountiful table with a red tablecloth, prepare no less than 13 Lenten meatless dishes and desserts for friends and family called none other than a "St. Joseph's Table," and spread the sheer joy of being Italian and loving food. Hey, did I mention that you eat a lot?
Although it is said that everyone has a "wee bit of Irish" in them on St. Patrick's Day, I simply don't. I have a wee bit of nothing but Italian ethnicity that spans the past several hundred years. I think the cavemen climbing my family tree were 100 percent Italian. Almost every person in my family married an Italian. (Thank goodness my husband had "cute" and "charming" going for him when he met my father.)
I remember going to Catholic school as a kid, begging my mother to let me wear a green hair ribbon or something for St. Patrick's Day so I'd fit in with the other kids. She'd look at me, shrug her shoulders, and remind me to wear red two days later. This is the same mother who wanted me to bring pepper and egg sandwiches to school on Fridays during Lent. (FYI - not good for fitting in with the peanut butter-n-jelly toting crowd.)
Now I do enjoy watching the fun of St. Paddy's Day, although the Chicago River looks green to me all year long, and I'm not a big fan of corned beef with cabbage. Not a soda bread girl, either. Truth be told, I also wasn't big on all the St. Joseph's Day fare when I was young.
My dad used to come home with these special pastries for St. Joseph's Day called "zeppole." He'd go to a bakery in the city to get them, and my parents and grandma would sit there oohing and ahhing, deciding if they were fluffy enough that year or had enough fruit or custard filling. I wasn't a fan of zeppole. Also wasn't going to be bringing those to school. Nothing more unpopular than a kid who brings smelly egg sandwiches for lunch than one who brings strange-looking, cherry-topped donuts for her snack.
You know, the more I think about celebrations like St. Patrick's Day and St. Joseph's Day, the more I think we must be in need of some real fun in between Valentine's Day and Easter, and leave it to the Irish and Italians to kick it up a few notches. So whether you're in a state of recuperation or anticipation today, this quiet 18th of March, I think a politically correct adult evening that favors neither heritage might just have to include pizza and a beer.

Moony, too bad that I couldn't put them on a train for you.
Moony, those don't look like any Zeppole I have ever seen! YUM!
I called there Tuesday, but never made up my mind if I was getting some for here. I knew they made them all week, but didn't realize they make them through Easter.

JG2, they're St. Joseph's zeppoli...you can purchase them tomorrow at any Italian bakery being it's his feast day.
Oh my! I will be hitting LaRosa tomorrow!
Most bakeries make 2 kinds...one filled with cannoli filling and one filled with custard. If they have both just get both. I prefer the custard one which is the original St. Joseph's

Dang ... I don't know of any Italian bakeries in Seattle.
I'm so grateful I don't know of any in LA, or I'd be in trouble.
