Oh, we're fine - just a low, LONG, rolling rumble. They did upgrade it to a 7.2.

It's interesting talking to others here, who really were feeling a little weirded out by it. I think people are really starting to feel 'on edge' with some of the intense Ring of fire activity we've seen in recent months. Living as we do at the convergence of three major faults - including the Andreas! - I can understand the skitishness

I keep hoping that this mid-level quakes are lessening some of the pressure on the fault lines.

Everyone I know is fine, but this was one of the weirdest quakes I have even been through. I guess because it was so strong and so deep from so far away.

I was actually cycling out some tragically old and disgusting stuff out of my car's EQ kit when this was happening. I guess timing is everything.

The Tulip pic from Holland reminded me that we have our own version here in SoCal - the Ranunculus fields in Carlsbad. They blanket the hillsides, and it's simply breathtaking!
