Happy Monday Adults.
Seeing Thurgood tomorrow with Laurence Fishburne. It is supposed to be amazing - and at least justifying dinner with my mom (who has the tickets).
Mooney, I hope your day somehow gets better.
"Birthday dinner tonight with my girls from here...I plan on a drink or two."
Starting early, eh Girly?
Good lord, cuz -- that's some frickin' black cloud following you around. Of course, who am I to talk -- I've got pink eye, an alergic reaction on my lip that looks like herpes and my house was all set to burn down. Drinks? Soon!!!
I forgot the dog groomer on wheels is coming by tonight. This should fun...Joop's 1st bath...it's going to be hell on wheels when she's done with him. I think I should phone up my neighbors and warn them. I will tell them to ignore the sounds coming from the van parked in my driveway.
You don't think they're used to ignoring the sounds coming from the shed, Boobs? Why would a van in your driveway be any different?
Deet, you do have a good point there...although tonight there maybe sparks flying. The little girl is a real drama queen...which comes to think of it, so is the groomer...perhaps they'll get along.
Again, sparks flying? Aren't they used to that, too?
Or is that just over SOMMS house?
And, occasionally, CPW?
Deet, only the loud noises and screams they're used to. Sparks are new.
Ah. Duly noted.
And as for the sparks over CPW: they usually happen whenever J2 opens the closet door and sees the poorly disguised evidence of a trip to Lord & Taylor. Or Bloomingdale's. Or Macy*s. Or..., well you get the picture.
It's those moments when his Cuban heritage really flares up.
I know the Cuban temper...not pretty!
Deet, we all throw dates out when we're available, and today worked out, so... Besides...I deserve it.
And I can't picture J2 annoyed at anything.
BD, the cuddlebug is NOT a drama queen. Sweet baby girl. And the bro sent me an e-mail warning me that I might be seeing my presents a bit early, cause they're going out of town and won't be back until the day of. Little does he know. LOL!!

You do, Girly, you absolutely do.
And you can't picture J2 annoyed at anything? He lives with me! Can you picture it now?
Yep, yep. Put that way, yep.

I've always felt it made perfect sense, Deet.
Evening all! Glad Moony's feeling better. Or en route.
I can't imagine a bitch of Boobs' being a drama queen, really.
Morning peeps!
Mornin'
Facebook is now partially responsible for the latest existential musings about my life. In the last few months, I have been getting (and accepting) friend requests from people I went to grammar school with while I lived in Florida, 1st grade through 6th. Not from anyone I went to High School or College with, but from a Catholic grammar school I left when I was 12. I have not seen or spoken to all but one of them since we left Florida in 1972, yet I do remember them and apparently they remember me. I remember most of them as being rather pleasant but not particularly close friends. And they are seeking me out. The memories, the thoughts about parts of my childhood that have always been with me, but buried, are bubbling up to the surface in uncomfortable but strangely welcome ways. Memories of pool parties, school field trips, strange pets, their mothers and fathers, my mother and father, petty arguments, tears, laughter, all sorts of kaleidoscopic memories just whirling away in my brain.
Is this rush to connect again because we're all turning (or have turned) 50 this year? Is it because of genuine nostalgia? Would any of us have sought each other out if the technology behind Facebook didn't exist? Were we all meant to reconnect, or is it some quirk, some wrinkle of fate, as Margo Channing (the film character, not the former poster) called "one of destiny's merry pranks?"
It's fascinating and unnerving, as well as slightly disturbing and yet a little joyful too. And it's giving me lots to think about while the shrink is away. And lots to write about, too.
I wonder who the next friend request will come from?
Morning, folksies!
Myles is 5 years old today!! I remember coming on here telling you guys the Godbaby was at the hospital, then no news coming before the end of the day. Other friends making me go to the fair with them after work, to give me something to occupy myself with...walking around the fair, constantly checking the phone that wasn't ringing and then FINALLY the call coming that he was here!
Seems like yesterday.
And now he's going to kindergarten. *sniff*

Next thing you know he'll be connecting with Deet on Facebook.
LMAO!
Dett, Facebook can be both good and evil. I reconnected with an old friend from grammar school who now lives in Florida. I forgot how crazy she was and it's gotten worse. She has now become her over the top insane mother! She won't leave me alone. She is trying to pull me into her drama which includes a husband who beats her. I'm a firm believer in "you can't help those who won't help themselves" I would block her, but I am afraid she'd attempt suicide over that. I just need to ignore her which is difficult being if I don't answer her calls she just keeps sending me text messages! Other friends are having the same issues with her. So accept friend requests after you go back into your memory bank and remember how the perosn was.
Happy Birthday Myles! Girly only 5 more days and AARP kicks in
Mornin' Peeps!
Deet, that was deep thinking for 8:40 in the morning.
My FB philosophy is if I remember a person and didn't dislike them intensely, I'll accept their friend request.
And without coffee, Shamey!
Thanks LS, now I got that song stuck in my head from Charlie Brown....the one that Kristin sang....
[SALLY]
"oh, yeah. That's what you think."
[SCHROEDER]
What?
[SALLY]
That's my new philosophy: "Oh, yeah?
That's what you think!"
[SCHROEDER]
Well, why are you telling me?
[SALLY]
What?
[SCHROEDER]
Why are you telling me?
[SALLY]
"Why are you telling me?" I like it!
That's a good philosophy: "Why are you telling me?"
Why are you telling me?"
"Why are you telling me?"
My new philosophy
The teacher gave a "D" on last week's homework
She said, "Miss Sally Brown,
Your grades are going down."
I could have told her-
[SCHROEDER]
You new philosophy?
[SALLY]
My new philosophy!
[as teacher]
Miss B?
[as herself]
I'm she
Look see.
A "D?"
A "D."
Well, why are telling me?
And that's my new philosophy!
[SCHROEDER]
That's your new philosophy?
[SALLY]
Why are you telling me?
My new philosophy!
[SCHROEDER]
That's great, Sally, but I've gotta go practive Chopin's
Nocturne in B-Flat minor.
[SALLY]
No!! I like it! "No!" That's a good philosophy.
"No!" "No!" "No!"
[SCHROEDER]
That's you new philosophy, huh?
[SALLY]
Yes. I mean-- "No!"
Just like a bust bee
Each new philosophy
Can fly from tree to tree and keep me moving
When life's a dizzy maze
On alternating days
I choose a different phrase-
[SCHROEDER]
Your new philosophy?
[SALLY]
My new philosophy!
[SCHROEDER]
Sally!
Some philosophies are simple:
"Man does not eat by bread alone."
Some philosophies are clear:
[SALLY]
"Leave your message at the sound of the tone."
[BOTH]
Some philosophies pick and choose
Deciding what goes in it.
[SCHROEDER]
Some take a lifetime,
[SALLY]
Mine take a minute.
[SCHROEDER]
But, Sally, anything that takes only a minute can't be
very lasting. For instance, Beethoven took over two years
to complete his brilliant Ninth SYmphony.
[SALLY]
"No!"
[SCHROEDER]
I can't stand it!
[SALLY]
"I can't stand it!" I like it!
It's like a gurantee.
My new philosophy.
And things are sure to be a whole ot brighter
"Oh, yeah? That's what you think!"
"Why are you telling me?"
"No!"
"I can't stand it!"
Now life is free and easy,
Much more philosophy-zy,
With my brand new-
You know, someone had said that we should live every day as
if it were the last day of our life.
[LUCY (passing by and overhearing)]
Aaugh! This is the last day!! This is it!! I only have
twenty-four hours left!! Help me! Help me! This is the last
day!! Aaugh!
[SALLY]
Clearly, some philosophies aren't for all people.
And that's my new philosophy!
Now, I'm really impressed. I'm almost done with my second cup and the fog still hasn't lifted!
