OMG! Is that Miss P online, before midnight? I don't believe it!
Mamie, they're moving in?
Hey DG, so when are you gonna tell me all the wonderful things that people said about me, on your trip? :-P
Welcome home, DG! I am sure you and TM are happy to have each other back.
Yes, Shamey ...I am actually able to post here for 5 minutes before the daily rush of routine insanity sets in. We're meeting a friend for dinner in DC tonight so I won't be home until late again. I need a week off in a padded cell...where I can just sleep!!!

Shamey - I know it's hard to believe, but I chose to play only with people who didn't talk about the board.
But, there was some talk about some crazy woman in Florida, if that rings any bells
Oh, nice try, DG, but you were hanging with several of my favorite "real world" people.
Edit: And, we go way beyond the board.

Honestly, with VERY few exceptions, all the time with people was blessedly free of this topic - it's usually covered enough here!
But also in all honesty, our mutual friends have always had nothing but wonderful things to say about you
Now, was that SO hard!
You know I'm only kidding.

I know
But it really IS wonderful to spend time and realize that the connections reach beyond these parameters.
Yet, they wouldn't exist at all without this board. As good, bad, pretty, ugly, joyous or exasperating as it may be at times it's still the mother ship.
It looks like that may happen, shamey. My youngest sister and her 3 kids. Her husband has advanced bone cancer and is in critical condition. She can't survive on the little she makes and they're so young that he has no retirement or survivor benefit to count on. So..... it looks like I will soon have a family. It would have been nice if it had come when I was young enough to handle it but now is a challenge. (Still nothing compared to what she's going through!)
Yes, Somms is right. I owe some amazing friendships to this crazy nuthouse.
Wow, Mamie, I don't even know what to say. They're so lucky to have you.

Morning all!
Mamie - YIPES! Does this mean you'll have to move to a larger space? I can't see 4 more people hunkering down with you now.
Nah. it's family. They would have done the same for me if the tables had been turned.
Like the gambler says - You play the hand that's dealt you. it just means I have to start getting rid of tons of my own stuff and then start looking for a place to live that fits us all. MAJOR stress factor to me but ZERO compared to what they're going through.
Morning all.
Mamie your sister is incredibly fortunate to have you. You and your sister's family are in my thoughts.
WOW. Mamie. *hugs*
Goodmorning - Taking advantage of a moment on the computer to check in with friends.
Mamie - so sorry about your sister's husband. One of my favorite sayings that I have learned in my own life is "I thought I had problems until I REALLY had problems and now everything seems unimportant by comparison". This is one of those situations.
Hope everyone is having a good day.

Mamie - you've given me real pause for thought. For a year-and-a-half since my brother-in-law died, I've watched my sister fall further and further in a downward spiral. Now, she's being held in a psyche ward after 'accidentally' taking some pills, and one of her former straight-A teenagers has become a dropout. My mother is there trying to put the pieces back together.
You make me wonder 'what would have happened if . . .'
I hope your sacrifice makes a difference - and the best to all of you.
Oh - you guys are too sweet.
Just pray the folks at the credit union will be willing to float me a large loan to take care of all the immediate stuff. I've been using cc's WAY too much for all this stuff and I'm spending as much on interest now as I am on the principal. I'd much rather see that go to the credit union folks than the Visa folks. If they're willing to do that then it'll leave me with just enough to hopefully move. You know the physical act of moving is tough AND expensive when you've lived in the same place for 20 years! I remember when it used to be that all you needed to do was throw a pizza and beer party for your friends. You'd rent a U-haul and they did the moving for you. Now my friends are all REALLY OLD and have a hard time doing anything. I have no idea how they got that way - considering that I'm just as young as I ever was!
Sorry to hear about both DG's sister (who I also know personally) and Mamie's family..they are all in my thoughts and prayers. Sometimes we just have to give everything up to our Higher Power and hope that he/she can help us through these rough times. One day at a time is all we can do.

I just KNEW that Bonnie Franklin had all the answers!
And thanks, Boobs

SOMMS - are you suggesting that all I need to get is a shovel?
It's always an option.

It certainly can help around HERE, on occasion
DG I just read your posts, the words escape me to relay you any real comfort. Hoping that the deepest depths have been reached and your sisters family can find a path that leads them back to some sense of stability and normalcy.
