So, I come home from work tonight and have a bit of a freakout. One of the the luxuries I allow myself is a cleaning lady every two weeks. At this point, she does not do a great job, but does the basics, and beyond trusting her (I have known her since i was about 10), she is almost like extended family.
I came home tonight and somehow Zander was not in the house. Usually, when I come home, be bounds down the stairs to meet me. I am calling, and calling, and I hear a faint meow from somewhere.
At first, I thought he was in a cabinet, which has happened, but soon realized the sound was coming from outside my kitchen window...
Both of my cats are full time indoor cats, and have never been outside without a carrier.
I hear fearful meows and find that he has been in the front of the house in the shrubs, for who knows how long, literally freaked out. Luckily, he stayed put, did not roam, and came back in when he heard me calling him.
Boy, was I pissed. I am relatively easy - she can switch days, come when she wants, stay for ever because she is slow, just make sure the cats don't get out. I had a long talk with her, and basically said everyone gets one mistake, but if it happens again, she will have to stop coming.
Maybe the experience freaked him out enough that he will not be so curious, but damn, I cannot tell you how relieved I was to see him jump through the shrub, onto the front walkway, and into the house.
Oh, I'm so glad he's okay!

YWIW - I would have lost my mind.
What little of it I have left, anyway.
Glad he's ok!
You, too
The crazy lady and her cats... what am I going to do with myself!

YWIW - drink!
And crochet, I guess - that's what the rest of them do.
I'd stick with drinking, myself.
In fact, I do
Off to bed for me - perhaps I will snuggle with the new boy a wee bit more tonight.
Crochet, shudder ... Wii bowling thank you.

I swear, YWIW, I'm going to take you to a REAL bowling alley someday. I can only IMAGINE what will happen
My shoulder and back probably could not handle the real thing for too long. But it would be fun trying!
I love real bowling. So much fun!

I don't imagine I have to give either of you an idea of what I'M like in a bowling alley! Surprisingly, I'm actually not bad. But you also might not be surprised that I don't give the activity at hand the attention that some others might demand. I'm too busy having fun!
Oh, I'm terrible at the game. But I love doing it.
Just like you're not that bad at pool, Q?

"pool Q" - as in "pool cue".
Hehe.
And yeah, something like that
By the by, WHY can't I take the advice of . . . well, EVERYONE, and stay away from the main board!!!
Pool [comma] Q.
I only visit the main board when I'm writing something about a show.

It actually wasn't about the denizens of that board. I wanted to see the reviews from ALL MY SONS, and ended up getting enraged at the OVERT over-emphasis on Ms. Holmes participation.
Honestly, it just makes me sick. Great play, legendary playwright, unbelievably esteemed cast - and we're treated to a run-down of how this Hollywood/Stepford wife handles a VERY secondary role.
I need a drink.
Well, another one.
Or two.
I just read that. It's sad that she gets the headlines over the real stars. Unfortunate for all, even her as an actress.
My acupuncturist/naturopath has strongly recommended that I not drink alcohol nor coffee. I think he's in cahoots with my other doctor.

No alcohol OR coffee?!?!?
I didn't think that was allowed in Seattle
I TRY to shrug off the what I see as 'reduction of the art form' in what is supposed to be its highest level in our country (maybe even the world?) But it just GRATES on my very nerves!!!
Fortunately, the regional scene has picked up the slack - like in your own fair city (and even, dare I say it, ours.)
But, STILL! It just seems so defiling to me - as if someone is giving a Ghostbustersesk 'sliming' to the whole proceding
Well, at the end of the day, Broadway is a commercial venture after all.
Yeah. I can manage the alcohol part, mostly. But coffee? I've been drinking coffee since I was 3 or 4.

And I'm the other way around
And I KNOW it's commercial. Dammit. Doesn't mean I have to like it
I just had such high hopes for this production . . .
My director friend you got along so well with wants to direct it in town soon.

HA! That's funny
Ok, I'm out - and you should be, too, as YOU'RE the one who has to WORK!!!
*MWAH*
I miss you!
miss you too! *mwah*
Please. I just have up cigarettes. I've given up many processed foods.
Coffee and alcohol? Let's not push it here, people. I'd go NUTS.
Happy Friday folksies.

The alcohol I can do without. I really and truly am going to need some help walking away from the coffee. Shira, I wonder if there's a support group for us. It's especially weird that I still drink coffee when it has no effect on me at all anymore.
