Good point, Q
So the verdict is in...my right axel was broken off. Now that wouldn't be too much to fix, but of course they checked out the whole car and I need front and rear brakes. *calls for 2nd mortgage*

Carmageddon is coming. SoCal will never be the same - watch the horror beginning July 15th....
Morning Adults.
How did you break an axle? Yikes. It is good they caught it before you drove too much.
One of the nice things about living in the same area for far too long is that I have an honest mechanic, plumber and dentist. I don't mind paying for work that actually needs to be done.
I hope the fix is quick and relatively inexpensive for you Boobs.

YWIW, if there is away to break something on a car I will do it. Luckily it happened when I was only a couple of blocks from home. My little guy who just graduated from H.S. is going to a tech school to become an auto mechanic. So once he graduates I will have my very own honest mechanic who hopefully will work for cheap.
They said I should have the car back tonight as long as they can get the part. I am staying positive.

Posted: 7/7/11 at 11:17amNo air conditioning in our building until an hour ago. SOMMSy, melted and not happy. Having no air crashed all computers--only have limited functions--no shared drives (we save ALL documents/files to shared drives), no email, but do finally have internet. I blame the fat f*ck! Grr.

Posted: 7/7/11 at 11:44amAdding to the tink and moony chorus, the company I work for was bought out a an international company and we have a new "boss." Don't really like how he goes about implementing things, lots of discontent in the company right now. I'm meeting with a recruiter next week.

Did you see that the Follies pillow on Ebay is now up to $380? If I only knew it would be such a hot seller I would have bought 2.
Good luck to Moony, Tinky and DD with their new bosses. I'm lucky to have a great one...he actually went out of his way this morning to pick me up for work. I'm sure part of it was that he didn't want to have to do my work which he does when I am out. Seriuosly, it is a pleasure working with him. Very easy going.

Posted: 7/7/11 at 12:09pmSounds like DD and I are working for the same new boss! Mine is implementing many changes, seemingly to prove that she's the new boss. Some changes are good, others are unwise. She's not consulting with anyone else, so she can't tell the difference between the two. Discontent abounds.

Posted: 7/7/11 at 12:30pmBriefly, in the hallway. She said we'd get together sometime today, but so far she has spent the entire morning walking around the building, deciding to which rooms she is going to move various departments. Not that she asked and/or told said departments that they are moving, you understand. Surprise!

Haven't you already moved twice in the past year? I can't keep replacing mugs.

From my experience, new managers who come in and have to demonstrate that they are in fact in charge by making many changes just to make them usually don't last long.
Their backs seem ripe for stabbing since no one wants to cover it for them. It is really hard to go out on a limb for someone who has gone out on the limb all on his/her own, used the saw, and once it begins to fall says "help".

LOL! I haven't heard about my department moving yet, cuz. It'll probably happen when I'm away in Maine - surprise! She seems to like to do things behind people's back. Not a collaborator, like the last boss. Sigh.
Boobs - is he on speed dial?

What's Carmageddon?
BD, that pillow is going to be personalized by your BFF. Of course, it's going to go for a lot.
Plus it's for BCEFA.
I adore my boss, but if he was standing here in front of me right now, instead of being out in Hoffman Estates, I'd smack him upside the head! Now back to undoing the mess he caused.

Girly, my bff will sign it if the winner desires. I know the $$$ goes to BC/EFA, but I think if others were out there they'd go for around the same.
You should have your boss visit my friend Karen, she lives in Hoffman Estates. If he's looking for a house she is in real estate

Girly, they are closing 10 miles of the busiest FW in LA for the July 15-17th weekend to put in a carpool lane.
Traffic that is already at a standstill will be routed to streets.
I am staying home and not going ANYWHERE next weekend...
