Monday greetings from the summer-stunted Great Pacific Northwest.

Two more weeks until I'm done with theatrical commitments for a while, looking forward to the break. In the meantime, I get to direct a 10-minute play for a multicultural playwrights festival tomorrow at A.C.T., and finish out the run of Everything in the Garden I'm SMing.

We're supposed to be getting a dog during my downtime too...

I'm good. Pretty much all set for the big day. I have my induction tomorrow for volunteering, so that'll keep me busy for a week or so before I have to take time off when my mom, dad and cousin arrive. Timing is everything.

My crazy cousin is only staying for 4 days. I tried to talk her into staying longer, but she's got commitments at home. My mom and dad are staying for 10 days. They arrive on Thursday and are staying until the following Wednesday, then they are taking me and the wifey to London with them for a couple of days. They fly home that Saturday afternoon.

Ok, the cake is kind of a mystery to me. A friend of S's from work is making it. It's 3-tiered. The bottom is fruitcake, which is a British tradition. I tried to talk her out of it, but I lost that battle. The top two layers are sponge. I think and hope that is just regular yellow cake. The icing is going to be ivory with burgandy accents. You'll have to wait to see the pictures. It should look great. I'm not as confident about the taste. LOL!

SHAMEY!!! I thought about you the other day as we flew over Northern England. The cake sounds beautiful -- I love the color combination.

I've spent most of today lounging around the pool. Not something one would association with being in Berlin, perhaps, but then again since J2 is done with his conference this afternoon, the next few days are going to be jam packed with stuff he wants to do. On Thursday, we're going to take a day trip to Leipzig.

Oh, and we're thinking about going to see something at the Deutsch Oper. The "OFFICIAL" production of EVITA. Apparently, the opera house has been booked for a European tour. What the hell, I haven't actually seen a production of it since the original in 197... oh, never mind when. Since then.

I was in the double digit age when I saw it, SoMMS, but the first digit was still a "1."

And I will say that was one of the (very) few times I was actually impressed by LuPone.

D2 - My calendar for the year is a walk through Berlin. This month's feature is the Havel River. It came with a little fold up CityWalk map of Berlin. I could stalk you.

Needless to say, I am beyond green with envy that I put Elphaba to shame! :)
