Yea, it's like how a 6hr VHS says 120 mins in SP. It has to do with what the manufacturer feels is the ideal amount of footage to fit on the DVD, but it varies based on what quality the recording is. All the DVDs we have ever used to put things on have been the same kind of DVDs. I don't, however, know how to tell how much TV you can put directly on to a DVD (what settings it has) with the recorder you have, because I've only ever used a computer that reencoded things. You might want to try calling my brother to ask...but I think it should be fine
