Hi Papa.
YWIW - It's on Chinatown and Identity, or some BS like that. Mid-August. My Dad's booking my flights, so exact dates are never known.

Posted: 6/28/08 at 11:05pmHi all - Just came home from an amazing concert with Mandy Patakin. I just noticed yesterday in the paper that he was performing as part of the Ann Arbor Summer Festival. So I decided last minute to go tonight...by myself...but it was soo worth it. He sang for a straight 1 hour and 45 minutes. Of course my favorites were the Sondheim..a little of everything. He was awesome. Have fun at Sunday tomorrow, Shira. I loved that show.

Sounds really cool, bway!
Shira, I'm sooooooo jealous. I didn't get to see Sunday, and I never have. I wish I could have gotten to.

Shira, as in "I'm her sister and her mother" identity, or something else?
That is a freaking amazing move.
Well, hopefully we can visit, and pull DG this way to join us.

He got here to pick me up, and his sister was with him, which I wasn't expecting. I adore her, but I was really surprised. But he complimented my hair, and when I got home, he texted to suggest a date without a chaperone, so I can't complain. It was very fun.

As in "American born Chinese are not fully accepted by either American or Chinese cultures"
Amazing move? Do you mean "movie" - it's on Chinatown in NYC, not the movie!
I hope this visit will be good, I think it will be.
DGG - how was your date?!

Yes, I was thinking the movie - Hah!
As for the thesis, I am not sure I agree with the premise - at least when it comes to the American side - and at least here in SoCal.
I can imagine that Chinese culture, which is steeped in tradition is not as welcoming to the assimilation that comes with being part and parcel of mainstream Americana. I am not as familiar with NYC's Chinatown.

Cute, DGG. A chaperone? At your age? Well, okay!
YWIW - Well I'll base it on the books we read, not my actual thoughts and opinions, since we all know those don't count as much in college.

Pffff. She's a friend, so not really. But we made fun of her for it anyway.

Morning! I wish I could've seen Curtains or Sunday again, but no such luck. But the Yankees-Mets game is a good consolation prize, lol.
I have also come to the conclusion that I need to stop drinking.

Morning!
So I guess I should be glad the guy cut off too much of my hair last week. Yesterday, even though it felt like it was all over the place, when I looked in the mirror, it looked pretty good.

Sunday greetings!
Girly - got my summer cut yesterday - from shoulder length to chin length. This will take d=some getting used to. Hope the back grows out before the 19th, otherwise I'll spend the weekend in a baseball cap.
Off to my weekly cult meeting....
