Boys are stupid.
I'm joining a monastery. I'll probably get more action there anyway.

He's turning thirty this year, so I thought he'd be old enough....
But, no.

Sorry WW.
I just got back from SATC = I had a free ticket.
It was cute. Predictable, but cute.
#2407adults writing the number 23 on the faces of passed out threadees
Posted: 6/29/08 at 7:21pmI have no interest in SATC. Maybe if I watch the show AND own Manolo Blahniks, but until then, eh.

It was free, and there were some legitimately funny moments, so I was glad I saw it. Jennifer Hudson was cute.
Kim Catrell does look amazing for 50.
I give it about a 7.
There was a line for Wall-E, and I almost tried to sneak in, but I would rather go to an evening show to avoid the kids.

I love free. Especially free tix to Broadway shows.
WHY do I insist on torturing myself and checking work e-mail on Sunday nights? *smacks self*

I'm working tonight. It just never ends. I think my laptop is going to explode from all the use...
And watching the Olympic Trials. Track and Field and Swimming. Very exciting!
I love the Olympics. And find all of the stories and competition leading up to them to be thrilling!
Was also delighted to read that Greg Norman and Chris Everett were married yesterday. Talk about a sports dynasty!

I literally bumped into Chris Evert in the street, one day. Had I done this on the weekend, I'd be sitting in a jail cell. Talk about security.

Hep, we need to keep bail money around for you, too?!
The Evert/Norman pairing seems to have created a little bit of a mess. Hopefully, all will be well with everyone.
Addy, I love the Olympics, too! My company is one of the many
sponsors of the US Olympic Team, and we've had a digital countdown clock outside the cafeteria since last August. I really needed to know right down to the second how long it was to my next birthday.
I wasn't too thrilled with that. I remember discussing the Olympics back in the original adult thread four years ago.
I gave up on the work e-mail. My Outlook kept freezing. A sure sign to hang it up for now.
Have fun DD!

Hey, You
It's been a strange weekend. On our way back from town Friday night, we found out the TinMan's mother had been taken to the hospital. So, of course, we went straight there, and were there until dawn. Everything since then has been an attempt to get back on schedule!
I really think his mom is finally on her way 'out'. She's lost what little cognition she had, and is really just kind of existing. It's sad to watch, and difficult to deal with. But, it's something that must be dealt with, and all you can do is try to keep your spirits up and carry on.
On a completely different note, it's SUCH a beautiful night here! This is the kind of evening I wish we had friends over for a BBQ. There's just the slightest hint of a breeze, and it's 72 degrees. Perfection!
Hope you're well, and ready for Monday.

Sorry about the TinMan's mom - that is a hard situation no matter how prepared you are to deal with it.
I just got off the phone with a good friend who lives in Vegas, and I a thinking of taking a trip out that way to see Bette Midler - it is the same show I saw a few years back, but it could be fun.
Otherwise, it was a relaxing weekend. Played a bit of Wii tennis (which is actually a decent workout, not great) and did some errands. It was beautiful out here as well.
As for Monday, no, I am not ready, but I really don't have a choice. It will be here soon enough one way or another.
I hope TinMan is doing OK. Be well.

I'll let the TM know you said 'hi'
He's doing ok, it's just hard to see her waste away and have no way to reach her. I think you get caught in this weird cycle of wishing her pain would end, and then feeling guilty for wishing for her death.
I've gone through this with his dad and now his mom, and I think we're about to see my step-dad start down the path (he's about to turn 75, and has had a rough couple of years.
As they say, growing old ain't for sissies!
On the work front, could you take in a thermos of vodka? I had a teacher in high school that survived that way. I had him first period, and he'd usually fall asleep before the end of class - like around 8am. But, if you're asleep, you can't be bothered by anything

Hmmmm, a few Vicodin may be more effective, especially since I am dieting.

I'm sorry about TM's mother, DG. That's very difficult to watch, and sadly, I have experience with watching parents age. While my father's not quite at that point yet, I've seen a distinct difference in the last few years.
In other news, my "30 minute power nap" ran 2 hours.
