Couldn't agree more, Deet. I have cousins from Glasgow. They are not all that much fun. But, you could say they have stunning architecture.
It is Christmas Eve down here. We are expecting a hot day with thunderstorms tonight. I hope Santa isn't grounded by air traffic control!
I hope all our dear adults enjoy Christmas and the holiday season.

A little carol singing never hurts.

Now he is looking at the somewhat melted table pad with a "who me?" look.
Damn cat.

We've had to keep a close eye on our menorah this year as well. 3 cats, a dog and a 3 year old who is hell bent on blowing the candles out can result in quite the challenge.

Table pad company did me a solid, and sold me a 1/2 pad with free shipping for all of $50 bucks.
But yeah, I am not sure how you have a menorah up Patronus, unless you put the candles out within seconds after it is lit!

Holiday was very nice, but I have lots of returns to make. Moonchild left last night, so life is returning to normal. sadly, my sister lost her mother-in-law on Christmas Day. They had just skyped that morning, so her passing was unexpected.

Added an extra day off and went shopping for my New Year's Eve game night. Too much food but that is when my Jewish genes kick in!
But right now, I am really enjoying a Harry & David pear. nom nom nom nom.
Happy Pre-New Years Week adult.
And, the smell of burnt plastic is finally abating. YAY!

I actually have an unopened box of Godiva chocolate and truffles I am saving for New Year's Eve (along with an assortment of cheese, hummus, dips ...). I have about 8 folks coming over for game night.
I will be good, until I am very very bad.

Christmas was decent. Spent the Eve with the Godbaby and her family. The kids were fun! Had a few stops on Christmas Day, ending with a visit with Boobs crazy kin.
Godbaby got me some of my wish list items, which was nice. Some cash from the boss, a cousin gave me a Pandora gift card, so there are some new charms in my future. One of my most favoritest gifts was the Eye Of Horus pendant I got! It has my name on the back in Egyptian Hyroglyphics. I posted pics of that on FB.
Coach wallet and this fake Gramophone from the bro. They haven't quite grasped that I'm not into the whole expensive bag thing. It complements the purse I got for my birthday that is upstairs in its box. They unexpectedly came in. They had been trying to get back this year, but the dog had eye surgery and they weren't sure if he could travel. Since the eye surgery was recent, they weren't going to leave him in the care of someone else. But then her mom had a heart attack a week ago today, so they brought the dog in for a quick visit to the vet and got the okay for him to go. The got to Jersey Friday afternoon. So they came over on Monday, dog and all. He was good, though. Excited to be in a new place. And they had another gift for me...two Pandora charms. The puppy in the dog house, which was on my list and they didn't even know it! And my Chinese Zodiac sign. So they redeemed themselves. LOL! I'm bad. I know it. We had a nice time. Hadn't seen them in about three years, so it was fun.
Our fingerprints don't fade from the lives we touch.

Christmas was quiet but nice. J2 gave me the Harry Potter Boxed Set DVDs, and a bunch of wonderful books, including the new Sondheim. I gave him the fancy shmancy cookbooks he wanted and two CDs of music he can listen to in his office.

I take it they were atonal pieces.
I've been busy helping friends plan funerals. One friend's mom died last week, my sister lost her mother-in-law the day after Christmas and another friend (and co-worker) lost her mom yesterday. We are also still planning the memorial service for our recently deceased alum (Class 0f 2010), which will be held here at school on Jan. 2. Apparently I'm the go-to gal for funeral service programs. It's a corporal work of mercy, I guess.
