Moony and Q - I'm sorry to read about so much loss - especially around Christmas.
I'm sure you're both offering all the support that is needed.
My sympathies.

Addy - I'm taking your example, and lighting lots of candles
YWIW: Yeah, we actually use a really old menorah that was Anji's grandparents. We sit it on the stove top and let let it burn out completely. We joke that it's a sub-miracle of Lights that we can manage to get all the way through Hanukkah without Cooper or the cats blowing it out.
That said - an LED Menorah sounds like a really great idea for next year.
Mooney and Q, I am so sorry. Much love and good thoughts to you both.
And Q, don't take offense, but I will just turn on a few flashlights. I think I am doing with anything resembling a candle for a bit.
Patronus, I saw a few on Amazon, and it will be a purchase before next year. BTW - mini-Patronus is absolutely beautiful!

YWIW - to quote Ms. Madrigal, from TALES OF THE CITY, "I have no objection to anything."
In fact, I giggled
There was a "don't" missing before the "think" but I gather you got the drift.

It should probably scare you that I knew exactly what you meant.
It should probably scare you even more that even the second time I screwed it up. And, I have not even tasted any Scotch tonight.

Good morning, all!
Day full of appointments here. Good to have time off so I can finally see doctors, dentist, car tune guys, etc. Also got on the scale for the first time months. I'll be paying a visit to Weight Watchers, too!
Mornin'
What is this "scale" you speak of, Moony? Is it, perchance, that thing one steps on and has that needle that refuses to move?
Off to swim. 'latah!
I'm still lounging about this morning and just cooked breakfast (eggs and bacon). I have not done that in months. I got home really late last night from the city -- shopped at Daffy's (hello gorgeous sweater and boots!), ate cheesecake, gave the death stare and swatted at tourists, marveled at Stockard Channing and Stacy Keach and finished with cocktails at the Marquis.
I'm lazin' about, too. I really need to figure out prizes for NYE Cut-throat bingo. If it happens this year, that is. Not sure what's going on.
Looks like I won't see my teenage babies this week. My cousin has been sick since last Thursday, and as of yesterday was on her last day of antibiotics. Now she thinks she may have bronchitis. I probably won't catch up with them until next week. Anxious to see my Godbaby and find out how school is. Haven't seen her since summer!
I also want to finish washing the kitchen floor. I did part of it yesterday afternoon, but only the sections I knew I could stay off of until it dried. I was going to do the last section right before I went up to bed, but I had such a raging headache, I couldn't. I figure just before I leave the house, I'll do it and then by the time I get back, it should be dry.

Morning.
Went to the gym this morning. over 1 hour on the treadmill (speed walking - not in running shape yet)and then some at home arm pilates. I tried to talk to them about personal training but they were all busy. I need to just commit and do it. I'll try to talk to them again tomorrow.
and I really need to meet my rich man or invent something to make millions - the gym is so nice during weekday mid mornings. I actually wanted to stay longer, that never happens in the busy evenings.
I know, Tink -- I love that I can go in the morning when no one is there.
Especially this week, when it's practically a ghost town.
I am not looking forward to the next month when all the new years resolution people come in for a month and clog it up even further. But I will not use that as an excuse. I will GO and i will succeed and...... all that crap. My motivation exercises need a bit of work but they are getting there.
Yeah, I'm not looking forward to next week either. But we shall persevere.
And in my case, splash 'em out of my way.
:)
Happy Birthday SOMMS!!!!! Happy Birthday Moonbeam!!!!
Happy Friday to everyone else.

*the cows bring cocoa in there happy birthday somms shirts*
heh, Boobs, that would be amusing. I clip my kittie's claws every week or so.
Serenity decided to knock the kitten into my shower today. Poor thing had no idea what was going on. Entire wet backside and was confused as to what to do next. How did i get two cats that don't freak out with water? I don't even like water.
Thank you for the birthday greetings. I spent a lovely morning at the Michener Museum enjoying the exhibit of Bucks County/New Hope School painters. Simply breathtaking. Followed by a lovely lunch of pulled pork, sweet potato fries and sweet tea at the Hickory Kitchen. Next, I'm off to my cousin's wedding reception.
Happy New Year!
For whatever reason, whilst in Costa Rica I can't seem to sleep in past 6 am, regardless of when I go to bed and in what condition.
Been having an excellent time with the fam, even went snorkeling on an island this week. Loved it, also emphasized the fact that I need to lose A LOT of weight when then kept on moving me around the boat in order to balance the weight. Eye opening.
