Done with my annual physical extravaganza.
All good. Blood pressure just about perfect.
Someone pass me some treats!
Time for a nap, and then some homework.
Happy Thursday Adults!
The Universe must definitely have some big surprise for me next year since my plans are just not panning out. Patience is not a virtue of mine, I guess I better learn.

DD - time's not up yet. A lot can happen in 24 hours . . .
Good morning, all. Another day in the office, another bunch of idiots to deal with.

Working on Christmas Eve Eve? Even I'm taking the day off! At least tell me you're going home early. Where are you spending Christmas, by the way?
Nope, I'm here for the duration. We have a ton of January events and I'm off next week, so there is way too much to do. I'm heading to Pasadena in the morning.
I'm at work too, SOMMS! I leave at 12:30 though. And then I'm off until next Tues. yay.
Morning. The cold is moving to my lungs. ugh.
Boss is working from home this AM, then leaving for Pittsburgh. Told me to work from home, too. Since I'm not one to argue...
Tink, maybe you should head to the doctor.

Tink - don't let it fester in your lungs. I did that last year and I'm still paying for it. Try Mucinex DM.
Morning peeps! Up early,as usual, thanks Tonky! Actually today I wanted to be up early....lots to do! I just gave my garbage men gift cards. Now hopefully they'll take any garbage I leave out. If I knew Mike & Darryl were so cute I would've invted them in....there's always next year
Now I need to get going...post office (last time!), haircut, stop-n-shop, laundry, wrap gifts.
BTW I just had a nice surprise...Jersey Boys sang Christmas songs on the Today show :-0

Morning.
We have a dear friend who's had a difficult year. Her brother, who lives in NYC and knows she loves Hugh, told her they were going to offer SRO tickets. On a whim, she cashed in some miles, and found herself standing in line before sunrise on Monday. She got to see the show, and our curiosity about how she liked it was answered when she went back to see it again last night. Afterwards, she sent out this message:
"What could be better than seeing Hugh Jackman? SEEING HUGH JACKMAN IN THE SECOND ROW! Standing Room ticket...HJ sees an empty seat , 2nd row aisle...invites someone from Standing room to take the seat...I race down the aisle at breakneck speed to score the best seat in the house...high five Hugh, and then melt as he sings 'Fever' directly to me as a reward for my conquest...Aaaaaah....I can die happy now. Pinch me..dreams do come true! I love New York!"
Happy Holidays, indeed - and a much needed boost at the end of a trying year!
GREAT story, Q. Good for her! I love when things like that happen to people who need it.

Supposedly due to economic reasons, her husband has been living in Bermuda for the past 5 years to work (he's a ship inspector for cruise lines.) When he arrived for a visit in August - to celebrate their 25th anniversary that she'd been planning for weeks - he announced that he'd been having an affair for the past 4 years, and had only taken the job in the first place because he was so unhappy and wanted to see if it was because of his life with her. This came completely out of the blue. It's been a LONG few months since then

Wow - that IS crappy! So happy she had a happy Hugh experience - she deserves it!
ugh, people suck. glad she got some Hugh attention!

She's one of the kindest and gentlest people I've ever known. I'm sure, for at least a moment in front of Hugh, she didn't even know she had a husband.
I don't blame her. I'm completely blissful in my marriage, but I'd have the same reaction
Q - good for her. I am glad something good happened and karma started to flow her way. And, way to go Hugh - that is why folks love him!
Off to an 8AM meeting, and then hopefully leaving early. My assistant is bringing in Tamales for the office for me and all of the emergency contracts that had to be done at the last minute are done.
So pass the Eggnog, use plenty of rum, and celebrate! Tomorrow an afternoon with old friends and Sunday a Hannukah party (including home made Latkes)
And Tink - take care. Mucinex does help with a chest cold. But be careful!

You - I made latkes for dinner on Tuesday night! I used 1 part sweet potato to 2 parts while potato. It was both colorful and festive. Happy Hannukah!
*the cows in there Santa suits bring champagne in red and green glasses*
On a side note why do family members have to act like such
Douchebags? Not talking about framily but real
Just paid the deposit on my trip to Scotland! Whoo Hoo.
My mom gives me a decent sized check each year for the holidays - so this is her Hannukah give to me.
Now I need to figure out air fare and whether to add a few days in front in Glasgow and and the end in Edinburgh.
And, to start buying a bunch of Single Malt Scotch to get my taste buds ready!

YWIW - for what it's worth, my thought is that the more time you take for yourself, the better. You RARELY do, so take the opportunity, and do it right
Well, the people I am going with are utterly fantastic. They make me regret not staying in NoCal after law school. Really good people. So, I am really looking forward to it.
But yeah, I think the saying is "Go Big or Go Home."
Hello, hello, hello.
YWiW, I personally found Edinburgh to be much more fun than Glasgow, although Glasgow's architecture is stunning.
