We're half way to where? Spring? Hell? Happy hour?
Good morning!
Morning! Brisk cold day today, but at least it's not raining!
I read "Sarah's Key" last night for a book club I'm starting. Next time I feel like complaining about my lot in life........
I have a whole tin of Rayal Dansk cookies sitting on my desk. You know those delicious Danish butter cookies. I'm on a mission to eat all the pretzel looking ones before the rest of the staff gets in.
OMG! Those are so good! I haven't had them in years!
Tinky, I found them in Walmart. They truly are addictive!
Hallo.
Scott and Todd's producer on PLJ works fast. From the Priscilla Divas just talking about Scott and Todd being "in Priscilla" yesterday morning, to today, Scott and Todd telling us they're going to be in Priscilla the Friday, February 10 show. Todd was questioning whether they'll be dressed as women, and when told yes, is now all worried about tucking it in. I was cracking up on the drive this morning.

Quick break to say hello to you fine folk!
Tink, that book was really something! I'll be curious to hear about this book club you're starting. I'm dying to find a good one in my area. My last one was all about the white wine and not about the books. Which was ok, except, I really want to be part of a great book club.
Hep, ...reading back and envious of your time in Sydney! Welcome back!
Finally saw FOLLIES last night. Considering I'd been scheduled to see it in DC, but then the date was changed, it's taken me long enough! Fabulous performances.
I've now officially added apartment renovations to my list of things to do. The timing proves I'm out of my mind, given the fact that I'm working with reduced staff this quarter (my right hand woman is out on maternity leave), they've just added another layer of responsibility to my job (thanks for the recognition, but... um, can I say no?) and all of the estate and tax work is still going on (and on and on and on). But, what the heck. Let me gut renovate my apartment in the middle of all that!
Actually, no time like the present. It needs to be done. I'm just taking a deep breath and diving in.
Now, do I want marble or granite? Dark or light? Natural stone?... decisions, decisions. (But oh, so much fun!)
Ok, see you in a few months!
Addy, I will definitely keep you posted. I am in the same book club boat - want to desperately be a part of one but the few I've tried were not what i expected. So next week about 5 of my friends that share my reading passion are meeting to try it out ourselves. If it actually happens and we like the format, etc, I will start to extend the offer further out (we tried to do it last month but with the holidays it was too hectic). I have found I am an awesome organizer, but cannot be responsible for picking the books, lol. I put about 9 hours total in before finally choosing this one. I am too critical and worried about everyone's tastes, lol.
Good luck with the reno. My philosophy always has been, just rip the band-aid. If you wait until things calm down at work, something else will just pop up.
Boobs, I just read in the paper that the parking in reserved spots during off-peak hours at train stations DIDN'T get passed.

Mornin'
Good luck w/the reno, Addy -- if you need a shoulder to lean, cry, whatever on, let me know. Been there, done that. Twice.
We went to one of those concerts that J2 likes last night at Disney Hall.
It's a good thing he's cute.
I met a "J2" for coffee on Saturday. Same name, but he is still in his residency.
lol, it went well. Chatted for 2 hours. He's shorter which usually bothers me, but didn't with him. I dunno. His schedule is pretty nuts so who knows.
I went to dinner with an accountant on Thurs. Once again, not bad looking, great convo, etc.
Both are perfectly viable candidates, but still, i just feel, ehhhh. we shall see. there is no winning with me. I finally decided I WANT to date and now it seems like the least important thing to me, lol.
Poor Girly, you can't catch a break.
Addy, QUARTZ! It looks just like granite, but you never have to do anything, but wipe it down. No sealing or worrying about burns or stains. That is what I have in my kitchen and I love it!
It really doesn't affect me. I rarely take the train, and when I do, it doesn't have its own private parking lot, so...
This has nothing to do with buses, and that's usually my way into the city.

Good morning, all.
I'm where you are Tink. I've had quite a few dating opportunities lately, but am feeling a little 'eh'. I hate the winter doldrums.
Off to host a big offsite meeting today. Wheeeeeeee.
Good morning!
Good Luck SOMMS!
Oddly enough, I am in great spirits, no winter blues here. I have been getting fabulous sleep, waking up in a good mood, make myself breakfast, even as work is falling apart I am staying relatively at peace, looking fwd to the gym, cooking, reading, relaxing when i get home, etc. I've even been trying meditation stuff. This new attitude scares the crap out of me, but I'm trying to roll with it, lol.

'Morning!
Sorry to be late to the breakfast party! Early morning meeting stretched into the next hour. And it's COLD this morning!
Thinking warm thoughts for DD and others in the Pacific NW today. Looks messy!
Oh, and could Revenge get any better? Bummer that it's not on next week.
It is Cold! And possible snow tomm and Sat. Not DD level snow, but first real accumulation of the winter. Fun. Go buy all the milk and bread you can stuff into your fridge lol.

The Moonchild is heading up to NYC tomorrow for the weekend. I'll tell her to pack boots!
And I get to see some handsome Framily members tonight!
If I was redoing my kitchen (and have thought of redoing my counter tops, I would do quartz).
Happy Thursday. Passport arrived! Whoo Hoo.

Now all you need is the plane ticket!
Just spoke to Moonchild. She's canceled her tyrip north - she's home sick with the stomach bug. At least she didn't get sick while traveling.
Feel better Moonchild! There is a bunch of nasty Ebola going around!
aww, I hope MoonChild feels better soon. and YAY for passports and Framily gatherings today!
Today is MamaTink's birthday. We don't usually do presents ofr bday or christmas, but she let it slip that not opening anything on Christmas kinda made her sad this year, so I guess I should go out and get something for her this year.
