Oh, please. You don't have to be a granola-head to enjoy the outdoors! Do you think I'm not staying in hotels each night when I do this?!?
There are ways . . .

Why, Shamey, that's an awfully big smile you're wearing . . .
I take it you had a good time?
Uh huh.
Well??!! Did Brave kill you? It did me in when I saw her.

Yeah, and when she sang No Day But Today with a guy on acoustic guitar, that got me too.
It was SO SO much better than I was expecting. And my girl is funny. Who knew?
Yay for Shameless.
I have heard some of her concerts - she does tell some pretty funny stories during the show.
When she describe the whole "falling through a hole" on Wicked, I laughed out loud a few times.
I am glad you had a good time.
Yeah, she had us laughing, too. She's so cute up there telling her little stories. Glad you enjoyed it! How were your fellow fanpeeps? Was Taye around?

Happy Saturday all!
Hi mom! Hi All!
I had lots of hospital stuff to do this morning so to treat myself, I stopped at the farmer's market and filled up bags full of zucchini, tomatoes, haricot vert, miniature eggplants, peppers, and LOTS of peaches. I'm going to pig out on all that deliciousness between the madness calls this weekend. (My sweet Kate is SUPPOSED to be getting married this weekend. We're all on call. {I'll believe it when I see it!})
Off to the vet. Hopefully all is well, and it will not cost me the amount of my mortgage to figure that out!
Quilty and Lolita send their love to Stoli.
Add Tootsy to that. (- and her pet person)
best wishes, YWIW!!!
Laundry and food shopping complete. I'm all productive and stuff despite drinking heavily and only sleeping like 3 hours last night.
Off to keep cleaning/organizing and maybe trimming some hedges.
Just reading back...
DG, one of the reasons I love you is that you go looking for nature and stay in hotels. No really, I LOVE that. It proves that we can live in both "worlds" without denouncing the other! A lot of people just don't get that.
To be clear, I thought Shira was talking strictly about "camping," so that's all I was talking about. I love nature, but I don't want to sleep on it!
HUGS
Damn.
I knew something was wrong.
Double Damn.

Oh no, You, what is it?

They are not sure.
I have to take him back on Monday for an Ultrasound. There is a somewhat large growth around his pancreas. If we are lucky, it is just an odd case of pancreatitis (sp). There is no evidence that it has spread anywhere else. It really depends on what it is, and the location.
I am not sure whether to be pissed or not. He is down to a little under 10 pounds now. The vet said that 4/5 months ago, it was probably too small to identify it by touch, which is why it felt normal... His blood work was fine back then, which is why the vet thought it was the change of environment.
It may be something they can fix, but we will not know for sure until Monday.
Looks like that scooter I was going to buy is now named Stoli.

YWIW - I know this is so much easier to say than to do, but try to only deal in your head with what you KNOW. At least they've identified a source of the problem, and it could turn out to be something taken care of permanently.
My thoughts are with you, my dear - I know it's saddening
DG - see that is not the way I problem solve. I try to prepare for the worst, so I will not be caught off guard.
I am hoping that this is something that can be dealt with relatively easily, but am preparing for the worst just in case. I just wish they could have done the Ultrasound today.
I am more pissed (maybe justifiably or unjustifiably) that I said he was losing weight, and identified a problem back 4-5 months ago, and nothing was found.
He is only about 8 1/2 years old, so it seems somewhat young for this kind of stuff to be happening.
