I had a wonderful time. Loved seeing my friends, and SO enjoyed meeting some new ones (and their families!).
The weather cooperated, and we had a patch of the park with a wonderful breeze. Comfy blankets, good food, interesting conversation and lots of laughs. Just a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Aw, Undi, you are sweet.
And mom -you are right. DC was a swamp and it fights us every year to return to its swampy ways. My favorite thing in the summer is to be stuck on the train with hundreds of sweaty tourists. Ugh.

Yeah, we're supposed to have a cool down. The key phrase in that sentence is "supposed to"! Actually, we've had some lovely days. Right now we're in a sultry phase, though.

BT, we were there several summers ago. OMG! the mall was like 120! Looks like Dave and I will be taking billygoatgirl on some college tours there this summer (GW and Georgetown)

DD, that brings back lots of summer memories... biking after a summer shower. I loved the smell of 'summer' after a rainstorm. (Does that make sense?)

of course it makes sense... I always associate the smell of an impending thunderstorm as "earthy" and the smell of post thunderstorm as "earthy mixed with green...."
