If girls could compete in sports I might have been okay but we could only be cheerleaders so I was a good cheerleader and at least I was cute. Bowling is fun and I used to bowl on a league but it is one of those sports where one week I would bowl 160 and the next 60. My husband would like it if I would golf but I would rather spend my money going to New York and broadway shows!

I hear you bwayaddict...I was on a league for 2 years and my first game I would bowl a 195 and the second would be like a 95 and the third could be a 156. I enjoy it so much though and it's probably about the only execise my arms got...LOL !!! I agree with you about Golf too..boring..spend the money on Broadway and have fun !!!

I enjoy bowling at Chelsea Lanes. When one of our clients come in from Chicago we always seem to wind up there.

I'm just sitting here singing an old Partridge Family song right now... wondering...
Why has the music stopped?
Where did all the happy people go?
I know they were there, songs everywhere
only a moment ago.
I only blinked my eye; and now the world that I used to know
is changin' on me; why can't it be
only a moment ago?
CHORUS:
Only a moment ago (only a moment ago)
It was spring and I was singin'
Only a moment ago
I could see where the road would lead
and what tomorrow was bringin'
Hey, Mister Dream-Come-True, why did you go and walk out the door
It all went so fast; why couldn't it last
only a moment more?
CHORUS
Why has the music stopped? (Ahh....)
Where did all the happy people go?
I know they were there (know they were there)
Songs everywhere (songs everywhere)
Only a moment ago
Why has the music stopped?

I thought it was Rupert Holmes, but I guess that would be too obvious..must've been Marc Shaiman.

Happy Sunday morning everyone. I see this thread continues to grow. It must be the biggest, longest thread on the board at this point.
I've missed a couple of days. Nina has tried to burn the candle at both ends and ended up suffering exhaustion. Now I'm facing a matinee this afternoon and having to put in an appearnce tonight at a function. I'm getting much too old to be doing this.
I haven't been bowling in years. Funny that it was brought up. When I was a kid, that was a typical family outing on the weekend. I didn't know bowling alleys stll existed.

Nina, do you need an escort tonight? In some circles, I'm known to deliver superb services of that sort.
Stop worrying about what I'm doing -- focus instead on what you're eating.

Who mentioned Spirograph??? That was an awesome toy! I also had another variation they created called Spectograph that made even cooler designs, but it was very rare. The best toy ever was Micronauts, though. I saw a new version of them recently, but they just don't compare to the originals. I loved the way all the parts interchanged so you could combine all the toys and create new ones.
Oh yeah, I wanted those sneaker roller skates so bad when I was in junior high, but my mom said they were too expensive. *sigh* I just thought Tootie was so cool.
I'm thinking about making beignets for breakfast...

Morning all!! Spent the wee hours of the morning getting rid of some stupid piece of spy ware from mpoor old 'puter. It seems to be working a whole lot better now.
So what is up with you folks today? Doing some back to school shopping with Erin (mama is doing the happy dance!) and some shopping for an up coming (and much needed vacation!)
Speaking of roller skates... I use to roller skate in competitions long ago and far away, I even went to Nationals one year!
Have a great day all!

Good morning! Been to church, husband golfing, I have to clean house after being gone to(in order) New York, Ohio, and Cyrstal Lake, Michigan. Reality sucks. However, already have a short New York trip planned for Oct 19-21. Found $80 round trip tickets on Spirit airlines. Haven't decided what I want to see yet.
Speaking of toys - anyone remember playing with lincoln logs and building things like log cabins and tinker toys. I played with those things for hours.

Afternoon Gang...had some errands to run this morning and now I think it's time for a lazy Sunday afternoon nap being all of you seem to be doing your chores. I was listening in the car today to Fleetwood Mac's Rumours...I think one whole summer that was the only album I listened to.

Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys and Legos??? Cool childhood toys of mine. Fleetwood Mac? loved them!! Had the biggest (still do) crush on Lindsey Buckinham.
