There are always the bridesmaids dresses, that's true! But I think I would be fired if I showed up in one.

Joeyjoe...the other night we had a discussion about swaping recipes. I figured if everyone sends me recipes I could throw something together for all of us. I hear some people around here have excellent recipes for cakes.
Mom..I just like wearing myself out so I sleep through the night.

buenos dias, mis hermanos y hermanas!
I am having a nice day off already...the boiler is being worked on in our building, so no hot or cold water. Yay. I guess I HAVE to go to the gym now just to take a shower!
Anyway, last night was great fun. I went to see a friend of mine in a show she's doing at Upstairs at Studio 54. It's called the Newsical. Think Forbidden Broadway where the topics extend to whatever's in the news. There were funny spoofs of John Kerry, W., Arnold Schwarzeneger (good lord, I just realized I've never tried to spell his name before and just butchered it), and even Liza Minelli (just 'cause ya gotta!).
Some of the material was spotty (a terrifically bad priesthood song has got to go) but some of it was great. Some of it was made better by the performers (among them a so-so song about Barbra Streisand's political aspirations, with Kim Cea doing such a funny job of singing that the material was greatly enhanced).
The performers were excellent. The show is also going to run for a limited time but they expect to continue adding new, topical material. It's pretty up-to-date, including a song where Bill Clinton, in his desperation to remain in the news over Bush and Kerry, has his bypass surgery.
SO go see it, if for nothing else than to support a fun and very talented cast (Stephanie Kurtzuba is phenomenally funny, as is Todd Alan Johnson of Aida), a very funny writer (Rick Crom of Urinetown), and a possible new cult hit.
