Well, you can always send some our way - it hasn't rained here in months - I can't even remember when the last time was, but it's been at least 7 or 8 months ago.

Morning Mom and DG. It finally stopped raining here about 5 this morning. Thank God...I had 2 bags to carry to work this morning and didn't want to have to juggle an umbrella too. Loads of floods all over Jersey, luckily I was okay. My house is on a slab, but if I had a basement I'm sure I would've been crying this morning.

good morning everyone... old news but has the Rodney controversy calmed down?

Joey - it seems that everything will just go right on ahead, which is a good thing. Rodney will post, and others will respond, and on we'll go. I made a statement, he responded, and that was that. No reason to keep it going.

Joey, believe me, so do I - it makes such a difference when the words get attached to real people. Ah well, someday, somewhere, somehow.

Good morning. How are you all this morning?
Mom, I live just a bit North of Boston, the rain has been relentless since yesterday morning. I do live on the ocean but, no flooding, Lots of wild waves crashing in though.

Good morning, Boobs. It's actually very pretty to watch as long as you don't have to be outside in the midst of it.

I love watching rain storms from under a nice cuddly blanket with a hot cup of french roasted coffee.

Yes, DG, that's him. I found this pic and decided to use it. Still missing the little guy.
Unfortunately, I have to step out onto the porch to see the ocean. Can't sit under a blanket and watch the effects of the rain and wind on the water.

We used to go down to watch the hurricanes go by - quite dramatic if it's not impacting you overly negatively.

orion, I grew up in Boston, so I do remember watching storms come in. At times I miss it, but both my sisters and a brother either live on Cape Cod or very close to it. So when I feel the need the ocean is only a two hour drive away!

Whenever we have a hirricane of very bad storm, I always wonder about those people I see standing on the seawall watching it. I've seen the waves push huge sections of seawall into the street and these things have to weigh a ton or more. Still, people stand out there watching it. We get as many people coming into the neighborhood and going to the beach for a storm as we do on a hot August afternoon.

In Bette Midler's book 'A View From A Broad' she wrote about experiencing "the thrilling rush of insignifigance" - and I think that's part of the allure to the storm-tossed sea. Even with all of our innate fears, there's something that draws us toward that which can remind us that there is something much bigger than ourselves - namely, everything

Morning, all. I grew up in Southeastern Mass. myself, and remember lots of hurricane preparations and aftermaths from my childhood.

bway...I know all about the joy of moving. Maybe you can convince Nina to come over and help you carry some boxes.

I don't want to add negativitiy here, but i just need to get something outside of me, because I'm really bothered. Without going into detail, I feel like I've really hurt the man I love, and NOTHING has ever felt this bad in my life - ever. It's nothing that we can't move past and through - I'm not sure I could live with that - but honest to god, I can't stand that my inadequacies are hurting this person that means the world to me. It's one thing to have issues in your life that you stumble through and try to deal with, but to have them negatively affect the person next to you in your heart makes it almost panic inducing.
OK, well, that hasn't helped like I was hoping it would - maybe I just needed to say it outloud to give it 'realness' outside my own head.

Sorry DG..I'm sure whatever happened or was said, you're partner understands that you never meant to hurt him. I know that empty, sick feeling though when you hurt the one you love.
