I remember my first pair of bell bottoms...gray pinstripe...I put them on and danced around the house playing "Love Child" by the Supremes. Okay now I will have a Harvey Wallbanger.
I loved being a girl scout...and recently found my mess kit and canteen, and all the stuff of scouting!
I still remember my pledge - and have my uniform neatly packed away...
beacon, me too!
I was a girl scout in high school when it was seriously not cool...but I loved camping, and was in 'mariners' (the sailing troop), so didn't care.
My 12-year old niece is a girl scout, so I have a freezer full of Thin Mints. In fact - anyone want one to go with their Harvery Wallbanger or Kamikazee...??
Now that you mention it, I think I did a year of Senior Scout. The troop was sort of fizzling out right about then, but I think I did.
We had candy stacked at our house because of my brother, the Boy Scout who voluteered my dad to head that drive. Dad was thrilled.

Ok - I think I'm caught up - and am trying to recover from finding out that boobs has . . . well. has . . . oh, you know - one of THOSE things! I was a cub scout, too - mother was the den mother
Bboobs - that was a laugh out loud memory!
I remember dancing around in new school shoes...and in my groovy plaid pantsuits with the little gold chains around the hips...

NYadgal - a friend did the tour of AIDA with Patrick - so I got to meet the Cassidy clan - and I, too, told Daviv all my old memories. I think it might have been different coming from me, though We all had a good laugh about it.

Yes...Cub Scout.
Must admit I still have my badge and star. I've no idea why. I was never that committed.

Oh, Boobs - I was always one of the ones who came prepared - the Scotch is poured and waiting
DGrant :)
Have a drink - we're serving all kinds!
Chug-A-Lug..Chug-A-Lug
oops - too slow on the post.
Cheers!
Wow. Thw whole uniform. I just have the sash, hat and the thingy that pined to your shoulder with the two yellow rope things. I'm drawing a blank on what it's called. I do still have my First Communion pocketbook, dress, veil and prayer book, though if that counts. Not exactly sure why I'm saving it.

Did anyone else make those folded paper things in school that you slipped on your fingers, and said a little rhyme while you opened the different sides - and wherever you land would give you the answer you were looking for? Not a great description, I know, but I don't know how else to describe it - it looked like a little animal whoose mouth opened both ways.
It all counts, bdway girl.
I'm a hopeless 'pack rat' - and keep everything. It's all very organized, and packed away for safe keeping...but have many, many boxes in the attic.
I probably still have many of the games and books we've mentioned. And I know I have all my record albums!

Yes!
What about those staw mesh things that you put on your finger then couldn't pull your finger out?
Came in many colors.

Jose' I think they were called Chinese handcuffs.
DGrant - yes, in fact beacon just mentioned that!
So funny! I remember we usually labeled the 'sides' to answer questions - like who we would marry and how many children we would have...
I will never, ever, ever get rid of my albums and 45's. EVER. When I was looking for a new stereo, I refused to get one unless it had a turntable.

I had the 8 Ball you used to ask questions to and would come up with your answer. Like.."Very Doubtful"

How about Shields and Yarnell? I just saw them in Scottsdale doing their old mime and robot act.
I loved Shields and Yarnell.
He has a store in Sedona - arts and crafts -
I was there about a year ago, and loved seeing all the old pictures!
