Morning, mom! Thanks for the coffee! I hardly got a chance for any myself yesterday running my little butt off back and forth to Starbucks!
Hope you have a good day! I need to get some work done.....

Morning, mom - thanks for getting things going this morning.
Well, good morning, Pip I see you've decided to catch up on the work - good boy. Responsibility is a good thing
Kind of shows you right off where the line needs to be drawn with this place, doesn't it? It can suck you in VERY quickly!
This will be a good chance to catch up, as many posters here aren't up so early on Saturday (and we won't even talk about Sunday.)
At the moment, though, I'm having visions of Boobs running around with his hair on fire while someone stands over his grandmother yelling, "Will you take fifty cents for this?"
Good morning, DG! Yes, I'm here plugging away and trying to only check in here every half hour or so! You're right...this is SO addictive... You know you have to step back and take a deep breath when you get mad that work is interfering with BWW!

Yes, Pip, priorities MUST be set Hopefully, by having to spend a little time at work on Saturday (and I DO hope it's only a little time) you won't have a problem in the future recognizing when you need to 'step back' - these demanding adults can wait just one or two more minutes for their coffee. Anticipation is a wonderful thing!
So, about this date situation - where exactly are you, and how can you not be meeting any number of young men who are fawning all over you?
Well, it's probably more my fault than anything else. I'm pretty selective and I'm most comfortable with people that seem genuinely interested in ME as a person first. That has to be the starting point for me...not just physical attraction...though that's certainly an important element. I'm not a hermit or anything...I just didn't have anything going this weekend!

Pip - Unless your intended goal is recreational sex (which I don't overly recommend, by the way - although, with my history, it's a bit hypocritical of me to say that) then your approach is the only real option. Reality is, if you're living a life doing what you love to do on a daily basis, that's the framework within which you'll meet someone who shares common interests.

Pip - I just saw your location on that other thread, and now remember you saying that earlier. Did I ever tell you I was stationed in Rantoul (just above Champaign/Urbana) when I was in the Air Force. The first time I went there, I asked the cab driver where the town was and he said, "You're in it."
I've had the advantage of watching two of the most loving people I've ever known...my mom and dad...all of my life. Their relationship is just so...one. Consequently,I know that it's possible to connect with someone else that way...the right someone. I'm not comfortable "settling" for less than what I want (boy, did THAT sound spoiled!) and this is one area where I don't feel any particular pressure to compromise! That doesn't mean I wear an iron belt with a lock or anything...I just make sure that I'm maintaining my standards and making conscious, responsible choices.

Pip - once again, you make me feel like there's hope for the world And I can assure you, being gay does NOT keep you outside that realm of possibility! My partner and I are partnered for life - and there's a reason for that. And why on earth SHOULDN'T you spoil yourself - we ALL should!
Well, don't pin your hopes for the world on me! I'm not exactly your "run-of-the-mill" normal guy! My mom always said I was born 30 years old!

Pip - I'm going to pin something else on you, young man, if you don't focus, get your work done and get out of there to live your life today! It seems to me you're checking in a little more frequently than once every half hour
And don't worry, you're on a short list of young people that give me hope in here - but it IS a list, none-the-less - you don't have to play Atlas today

Thanks, Pip - and you as well! I get to meet some board posters tonight, so that should be fun. Now get to work and go have some of your own

Well, how did it go DG, meeting fellow posters?
Hope everyone had a great day.
I'm spending my time nursing bad sinuses and tracking down props for an amateur production of My Fair Lady (with $0 budget.) Such fun!

Ah, the quiet solitude of Sunday mornings Hello mom - glad the show was enjoyable, and can't wait to hear about it.
The small left coast gathering was very enjoyable. We had a fun time meeting some of the BWW folks
The show was truely amazing.
It was a bit shaky at first. Wally Harper Ms. Cooks long time friend and collaborator past away on Oct. 8th and this was the first time she has done the show since. So on a few songs (What Will I Do?) she broke down into tears. Somehow she dug down and found the courage and strength to finish that set.
"Glitter and be Gay" was the high point of the evening.
Dave and I were laughing at the fact that Ms Cooks resume looks like (not to mention the facial structure!) another perky blode that just sang the role of Cunegonde.
All in all a great evening. Some wonderful stories of working with Robert Preston, and meeting Gary Cooper, and NOT Maria Callas.

mom - it's always interesting to see a perfomer deal with very real emotion during their perfomance - but that's part of the reason that I will ALWAYS prefer live entertainment! She really does amount to theatre royalty, doesn't she? And certainly from a different era - you know, the one that honored class, style and grace.
You hit the nail right on the head DG! Just in awe of that woman!
Style, class, professionalism, are just the beginning of the ways to describe her. In her words "I was told I was in a Golden Era, I just didn't know it. I wasjust looking for my next job!"
To see her perform live has been a dream of mine for so long, I am still overjoyed and giddy!, by Dave's wonderful surprise.
hello all -- just popping in for a minute -- hope everyone is haveing a good weekend!
chat later!
BUMP! Hiya K! Wow how did this get so far down the list?
Hi Mom...I had some running around to do today and dozed off when I got home. You think I've been working hard lately.
Mom..should we start calling you JOAN..lol !!!
Well Joan is my confirmed name! Always loved her story!
Now you can say "Oh you are SO gonna burn mom!" But actually I think I just racked up a couple of millenia in Purgatory!
Well if you read my story on that thread Mom..where do you think I'm going???
Well your story inspired mine. I thought you'd get the lightning bolt long before me! ( I'm looking out for numero uno here!)
