Very Good Nina! you get the god star!! (Remember those?)
Small World.. well tht is sorta a post tramatic stress thing for me. I was on that ride at Disney World and it broke down! The light went out, the boat stopped , but those d**n dolls kept on singing. I was traped in Japan for 45 minutes! It took me forevere to foget the words to that stupid song!

Mominator - you must have loved that moment in the Lion King when Scar says, "Anything but that!"

Off the thread for a sec, but Hiliary Clinton was just here and well she looks so much better in person. She's wearing a black suit with a pale pink shirt. Thinner and prettier in person. Just figured I'd let you know.

In the movie, Scar tells to Zazu to sing something (he's bored) and Zazu launches into "It's a Small World" - the response is then "Oh, ANYTHING but that!"

She's walking around the floor of the NYSE and shaking everyones hands. I'm sure it is to prove that we're secure down here.

Speaking of politics, did anybody else follow Watergate? It was my first awareness of that part of life, and I was fascinated - I read all of Woodward and Bernstein's books. Of course, that initial interest has since turned to revulsion, but that's covered explicitly in other threads

DG - yes, we followed Watergate in current events.
My grandmother lived in the Watergate complex for many years, so I thought it gave me a reason to pay closer attention than I would have.

After following that whole debacle, I was VERY happy to spend my time focusing on the lead-up to and the actual playing of the 76 Olympics.

Mark Spitz is in my building - just bumped into him - he's being interviewed on Fox News right now...

going back to "It's A Small World" -
I remember in 1967 my parents took my sister and I to California to visit some friends, and they promised to take us to Disneyland. We were so excited!!
So - the appointed day arrived - and we drove up to Anaheim - and the gates were locked shut. It was the one day of the week that Disneyland was CLOSED! (back then things weren't open 24/7 like they are now...)
Talk about CRUSHED. My sister and I cried the whole way home. I was 8 and my sister was 6 - and we were SO CLOSE...but couldn't get in. So, my parents (bless them) rearranged their trip so we could drive back the next day!

Okay everyone, are you ready for a sing along...on the count of 3...1,2,3...
It's a world of laughter
A world of tears
It's a world of hopes
And a world of fears
There's so much that we share
That it's time we're aware
It's a small world after all
There is just one moon
And one golden sun
And a smile means
Friendship to ev'ryone
Though the mountains divide
And the oceans are wide
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world
It's a world of laughter
A world of tears
It's a world of hopes
And a world of fears
There's so much that we share

It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world
