1) How many words/pages?
2) Are these books Cliffnoted/Sparknoted online so I can see a detailed summary?
3) If not, what the hell are these books about?

Posted: 11/13/04 at 8:21pmIts a 5-7 pages, double spaced, 12pt new times roman. No, they arent on either at least i dont think so. The first book The Potosi Mita is about the forced indian labor system (mita) that was used in Spanish America, at the silver mine at Potosi. and the second book is about the silver mine in Potosi and how they worked and the problems that they faced that lead from the mita being introduced to the reforms that were made, that basically both books for you. i know its not much but thats the general information from both books

Hi,
Okay gimme a minute. Lemme think for a bit. I don't know how much I can help you since history's not a big strength of mine, but at least if you have an outline, it helps a bit. I think you're sort of on the right track. What grade are you in?

Posted: 11/13/04 at 9:31pmokay cool...well lemme see...how are you planning on comparing and contrasting the books? Are you supposed to evaluate the points in the books themselves or what?

Best when you C&C, let's say, start with what are the similarities and differences (S&D) btwn the main topic of each book? (i.e. the first book is about the process in which the mita came to be at Potosi, and the second is more focussed on the working conditions at Potosi, for example.). Then you should C&C each of their thesis. (i.e. book one says the mita was fair and great. book 2 says it was inhumane and degrading.) Then you should C&C how effective each book is (let's say, book 1 is better at shedding light into the the process and history of the mita at potosi, but book 2 is better at showing the realities and effects of its implementation.)
Does that make any sense? I'm pulling this out of my ass because I know nothing about the potosi or mita.
first book The Potosi Mita is about the forced indian labor system (mita) that was used in Spanish America, at the silver mine at Potosi. and the second book is about the silver mine in Potosi and how they worked and the problems that they faced that lead from the mita being introduced to the reforms that were made,

Posted: 11/13/04 at 10:18pmYea it makes perfect sense, thank you very much for helping me with the comparing and contrasting part. now i can stop worrying about that part of the paper, thanks for the ideas. thank you thank you thankyou. its not much fun the history of Latin America. but if i got to take it then it has to be taken. ill take African history next semester or something like that

AHH i need to angst. here we go.
My mom is REALLY pissing me off. She's been screaming at me all week for no reason. I didn't even do anything!! It's really upsetting me. I tried listening to Adam and everything to cheer me. It worked for a little while. Then to make it even worse I fell down my stairs, (i know, dork!)and now my back and butt really hurt. ROAR!!! I hate my life.
