yeah we do that here in Canada too.
Also, in the city I live in, smoking has been banned in all public places.
Toronto, Ottawa and surrounding cities and towns have just implemented this legislation as well.
The smokers are upset but get used to smoking outside. The non-smokers (especially singers like me!) couldn't be happier.
Yet another reason why it's great (and healthy) to be Canadian.
lol--papa. Like you'd know! I have nothing to be ashamed of!! :)

I think Papa may have been speaking for himself, jrb.
Makes sense. He has to be overcompensating for SOMETHING.
more g*dd*mned evidence of an overcontrolling government run amok just like here in cowardly nyc as we have those godforsaken rules as well. if it's so bad, ban 'em by god and be done with it. and i'm an ex-smoker.
if you must know, i just started the atkins diet this week and think i might be losing my mind! i've never had any complaints, judy, although they may have all just been polite...or drunk.

overcontrolling government run amok?
how about protecting the health of its citizens!
if it's serious about the dangers of tobacco why is it legal?
Beer is legal too, isn't it? And hard liquor? Those are dangerous.
So is McDonald's!
While we're on the subject of legal dangerous things, maybe they should outlaw GUNS, huh?

oh golly, Papa, why don't you run for president?
Remember when they made alcohol illegal? How it made alcohol even MORE dangerous than it was before!?
If they made tobacco illegal, then it would become another black-market drug. And you know how safe the drug trade is.
I think Papa should start his own country.
so they'll just make it illegal to use it anywhere?

614, you're awesome.
Don't even get me started on the gun issue down there. I mean, we have guns up here. We have a gun registry that created a huge defecit (that's exactly what happens when you leave things to the Liberals). But still, we have some semblance of gun control. You can't just buy em at the corner store or Zellers!
614 ... do ya have any big plans for your sophomore year?
ok, kids, i'll leave this to you to hash out, the workday is over and now it's time to play. ta ta.
Thank you Judy, you're awesome too.
Uhh...excuse me papa?

And Papa, silly boy, you can still use it OUTSIDE and in your home/ car, where you're not directly forcing secondhand smoke upon unwilling patrons.
And Atkins..... I agree it is a good diet to use in the short term. It's effective. But all it is is cutting calories in the form of carbohydrates. If you cut calories from fat you're going to lose weight too.
I just caution people on Atkins to use it as a temporary DIET, not a LIFESTYLE. Otherwise half the nation is going to have gout and a completley shot liver.
That's my Atkins schpeel.
Hey I wonder what Marc Shaiman has to say about this whole thread? And I've also always wondered what exactly he has against that "bitch Anne Murray, too".
I liked Snowbirds!
He DEFINATELY didn't just say I was 14...

oh and Papa, now that you're gone there's nothing LEFT to hash out.
You were the only one who had to defend your anti-Canadian dignity.
I think the rest of us Canadians and Americans on the board can rest happy
Yay!!!
Canada Rocks!
Yay Degrassi!

Gotta show some love for Canada.
I mean, I'm so close to the border, I'm practically from Canada myself.
It's not unusual to find a random Canadian coin mixed in with my change from McDonalds.
I went to Stratford for school fieldtrips.
And dude, I grew up on The Elephant Show, Degrassi, Ramona, Anne of Green Gables, and the Road to Avonlea.
Canada frickin' rocks!
Eh?

Road to Avonlea rules. Everyone I danced with was on that show (come to think of it, same with the Elephant Show).
And Anne of Green Gables...man, I met Megan Follows once, she's practically ancient now, and you still only see Anne in her. Kinda sad for her, actually :)
YAY Degrassi!
Sure beats Saved by the Bell.
I KNOW you did not just diss Saved by the Bell.
Because if you did, I would be forced to get all medieval on you.
I'm not quite sure what that means, but I think it involves you getting hurt.

haha I watched Saved by the Bell last night for the first time in a few years.
It's so incredibly cheesy!! A-C-T-I-N-G!!
But still highly enjoyable. Gotta love those kids.
