Absolutely infuriating.

A Canadian newswoman interviews dancer Margie Gillis about the financial contributions of Canadian taxpayers to her interpretive dance company through grants and public funding. She also, in turn, ignorantly questions the necessity of the arts in general to the public at large. "Why should the taxpayers fund something that is not profitable?"

Some of the most unprofessional new reporting I've ever seen. Take a look.

Wow. I've watched the first 5 minutes and it seems Margie came in to the interview totally unaware of what it was going to be about - almost as though she was tricked. The reporter slowly has become more and more hostile towards her - almost an attack. This is truly bizarre, and I'm still watching.

All Canadians really aren't shark-like like this woman :)

EDIT: Wow, it just keeps getting worse. This woman is nasty. It's almost comical. Is this really serious?

Damn. I understand why she got offended (the dancer) but it became kind of a yelling mess. Why is the reporter so goddamn mad at this poor woman?

Does this reporter still have a job? It's obvious she had an ax to grind before she even asked her first question. She is clearly bias and was in attack mode from the very start. She was unfair,confrontational,and just plain rude.Very unprofessional. I can not believe she still has a job after watching that. Her interview skills are just terrible. On a side note,if she does get fired she has all the requirements to host her own show on the Fox News Network.

Exactly. She was condescending and had made up her mind from the start. She even admits multiple times she doesn't even understand interpretive dance. So how the hell can you conduct any kind of informed interview without even understanding what you're talking about?! On numbers alone?! Hello! It's an art form! The arts don't run on finance alone, dumbass.

I give a lot of props to Ms. Gillis, who gracefully handles this nasty woman from beginning to end. Speaking of the end, I love that the reporter just HAS to get in the last word.

It sounds like it would have been known this wouldn't be friendly as the "reporter" states at the begining she hadn't been able to get others from the arts field to appear on her show. I'm guessing this is a show/station know for immflammatory thoughts on government spending in general and for the arts specifically. I'm guessing this behavior and attitude is nothing new for the particular reporter.

The Sun Channel is a(new) devision of the Sun newspaper chain. They are a tabloid w attitudes slightly right of Atilla the Hun. The worst of it is, they are not even articulate, just nasty, brutish and short of any wit, humour, patience or perspective not their own. Kinda Fox lite.
I didn't mention it on the main board, but we recently had an election here and the New Conservative Party ( once know as the Reform party) and after minority goverment after minority- Harper and his redneck buds finally conned city dwellers into voting for them and delivered a majority , mostly cos of the base that Sun News has alwasy pandered too. ( yeah less sss if ole Stevee bouy deleivers Hunh?!)
