re: Carole King

An oldie, but still a goodie....perfect for song for this time of year !!!!

What shall I write?
What can I say?
How can I tell you how much I miss you?

The weather here has been as nice as it can be
Althought it doesn't really matter much to me
For all the fun I'll have while you're so far away
It might as well rain until September

I don't need sunny skies for thing I like to do
'Cause I stay home the whole day long and think of you
As far as I'm concerned each day's a rainy day
So It might as well rain until September

My friends look forward to their picnics on the beach
Yes everybody loves the summertime
But you know darling while your arms are out of reach
The summer isn'[t any friend of mine

It doesn't matter whethee skies are grey or blue
It's raining in my heart 'cause I can't be with you
I'm only living for the day you're home to stay
So It might as well rain until September
September, September, oh
It might as well rain until September

Another favorite from the movie "A League Of Their Own".

Carole King - Now And Forever Lyrics

Now and forever
you are a part of me
And the memory cuts like a knife
Didnt we find the ecstacy
Didnt we share the daylight
When you walked into my life
Now and forever
I'll remember all the promises still unbroken
And think about all the words between us
That never needed to be spoken
We had a moment
Just one moment
That will last beyond a dream,
Beyond a lifetime
We are the lucky ones
Some people never get to do
All we got to do
Now and forever
I will always think of you
Didnt we come together
Didnt we live together
Didnt we cry together
Didnt we play together
Didnt we love together
And together we lit up the world
I miss the tears
I miss the laughter
I miss the day we met
and all that followed after
Sometimes I wish I
could always be with you
The way we used to do
Now and forever
I will always think of you
Now and forever
I will always be with you

re: Carole King

SO in the mood for some Carole King tonight!

I gave in to iTunes and bought the Living Room tour CD this weekend, and I've been listening non-stop. I even dreamed about her last night. Bring it on!!!!

Edit: Now that I think about it, Carole morphed into Joni Mitchell and then back again in the course of the dream. I think the dream was actually more about smoking than it was about legendary singer/songwriters. And we all know what THAT means....

:::sigh::: Have a great time everyone, and be sure to report back afterwards for the rest of us unlucky souls who won't be there.
I hung out with Cheyenne Jackson in his dressing room waayyyyyy before he tickled D2.

Hi Kids!

Addy and Boobs - Have a great time at the concert tonight! Let me know how it is - I bet you'll feel the earth move. I will see Carole at Chastain next Wednesday evening. Since the venue is outdoors, I hope rain and Hurricane Emily stays far away!

Lots of love from Atlanta,
Jungle

re: Carole King

Lift me, won't you lift me above the old routine
Make it nice, play it clean, jazzman

When the jazzman's testifyin' a faithless man believes
He can sing you into paradise or bring you to your knees
It's a gospel kind of feelin', a touch of Georgia slide
A song of pure revival and a style that's sanctified

Jazzman take my blues away
Make my pain the same as yours with every change you play
Jazzman, oh jazzman

When the jazzman's signifyin', and the band is windin' low
It's the late night side of morning in the darkness of his soul
He can fill a room with sadness as he fills his horn with tears
He can cry like a fallen angel when risin' time is near

Jazzman take my blues away
Make my pain the same as yours with every change you play

Oh lift me, won't you lift me with ev'ry turn around
Play it sweetly, take me down, oh jazzman
