lildogs- what was your bad experience at Kiehls? Did you have an allergic reaction? I always love going in there- they send me home with a bag of samples even if I don't spend a penny.
Their lip balm, by the way, is a staple in pretty much every makeup artist's bag.

My wife stole my Kiels for her make up kit for her last play.
No, I got into a fight with someone in the store--he was an employee, though he wasn't dressed like one, and he was really nasty to me so I got nasty right back. So I decided to start using Anthony Logistics...never looked back.
Ah, the Nasty Shopgirl. I always think of the scene in AbFab when Edina is in an art gallery, and the girl is being nasty. Edina looks her square in the face and says "You only work in a shop, you know. You can drop the attitude."
lildogs- I think you should go back and get a sample of the lip balm...
I suppose I should forgive--and it wasn't a girl, a guy--which is probably what threw me off. He barked something at me about not being in line, I said something and then he "bowed up" to me (For you non-country folk, that means he puffed up his chest and came forward like he wanted to fight) and with that, I put down what I was going to buyand left. Unbelievable...
But now I buy from that the Health Thyme store on 6th...and i get fun cool tubes for around $2/3 and i support a local businessman
I have to link this company, because their products are SO much fun. i.e. a massage soap bar called Buffy the Backside Slayer.
They opened a shop in Herald Sq. I think it's the first one in NYC. They are all over London.

lildogs- I'd still call that guy a shopGIRL, and that kind of behaviour should have gotten him fired on the spot.
So...after reading through these messages...it seems I am the only one who refuses to be addicted to these "lip savers" anymore. You all seem quite comfortable with your addictions.
You should visit the site I linked in my earlier response..it's very amusing and informative regarding chapsticks and addiction.

Hi. My name is MJ and I'm a Chapstick-aholic.
I'm SO glad to know that I am not alone in my addiction.
I ran out in Paris last year, and bought something at the Body Shop that fabulous and expensive, that was truly amazing. I have never seen it at the Body Shops in the states,,,,,,

Wait, Blistex dries your lips out too?
My whole world might just have ended. I die without it. Once I forgot my tube of Blistex at home and had to survive five hours alone. My lips were all puffy and dry feeling. Can't. Live.
Must try that beeswax trick.

Supposedly ChapStick puts flecks of fiberglass in their lip balm so it makes your lips worse instead of making them better, therfore making you buy more Chapstick.
My friends did a big report on it, if I could find the articles they had me read I'll put them on here.

That is true. I also heard that Rod Stewart's stomach ..........
i definitely have one of the worst addictions ever. when i'm without it, my lips automatically chap themselves to piss me off. heh. but i used to have like 10 tubes. now i'm down to 2. need to go out and get some more.
blistex medicated stuff is good.
cherry is BORING.
Yup. Always have at least one in my bag, car, desk, bathroom, kitchen...
If I leave home without it I have to buy one. I do think it's addictive.
I'm addicted to cherry Chapstick, I always have a tube on me and it's become a compulsive nervous habit. I even wrote a paper about my addiction for my writing class last year.

Sometimes when I get bored I take a tube out and just keep putting it on til like the whole tubes gone, then attempt to get it off.
Ah chapstick. did anyone else attempt to eat it as a child?

I am such a loser that again today I did not throw a tube in my briefcase and I now have dry lips.
i have 5 different lip glosses in my bag right now. i must have moisturizer on at all times. chapstick is deadly, as is carmex, blistex, etc. they dry you out. a basic product that works very well and is not too expensive is Rosebud Salve. also works on your hands and softens cuticles. available at ricky's and sephora and elsewhere.

So now I think I am addicted to Chapstick... haha.. i have the disney princess chapstick and it's called Midnight Blueberry.
This stuff works so much better than chapstick. It's palmer's cocoa butter lip balm.
