Of course, the faggots are welcome to buy as much chicken as they want, but when it comes to equality, no can do!
How anyone with a conscience can continue to spend their money there puzzles me.

Because it's Lisa Welchel's idea of a fancy night out?

My step-mother works for Chik-fil-a, but I'm not even sure she finished high school.
I do wonder why everyone is getting worked up about this again, because I've seen this same link all over Facebook today. Not that people shouldn't be talking about it, but I'm just surprised it's popped up again like this without something new to add. And I'm not complaining that people are talking about it, but I thought everybody already knew all this and the article is old and doesn't have any new information.
I sort of vaguely remember having it once or twice when I was a kid and lived in Georgia, but I haven't had it since then and I don't eat chicken anymore. But even if I did, I couldn't in good conscience spend my money there. I know lots of gay folks love it and I hear a lot of people with food issues (maybe gluten problems?) like it because of how it's cooked or something, but still they REALLY want you to know that they hate gay people.

I don't know... I liked the company when I was younger because I respected the fact that they stood by their beliefs in being closed on Sundays. Many other Christian owned businesses are open and employees are working. They are a Christian owned organization and have the right to donate to the charities they support. I haven't given them my business in years and won't, but I don't think this is saying they EXPLICITLY HATE GAY PEOPLE. I guess I kind of feel like saying that it's HORRID that gay couples can't attend a straight couples retreat is much like saying it's discrimination that I can't apply for a Birthright trip to Israel because I am not Jewish. Why would a gay couple WANT to attend this retreat? It's not focused on them.
This is what they believe. It's not necessarily what franchise owners believe.
I am just torn. They have the right to believe what they believe. I just choose not to give them my money.

This link is in reference to 2009, but still.
IRS 990 forms show that WinShape, the restaurant chain's charitable foundation which was founded by Chick-Fil-A's chairman S. Truett Cathy in 1994, gave to the following groups in 2009:
Marriage & Family Legacy Fund: $994,199
Fellowship Of Christian Athletes: $480,000
National Christian Foundation: $240,000
Focus On The Family: $12,500
Eagle Forum: $5,000
Exodus International: $1,000
Family Research Council: $1,000
An earlier investigation by Equality Matters found that Chick-Fil-A, which was recently voted the third most beloved restaurant chain in the United States, donated more than $1 million to anti-gay groups between 2003 and 2008. The IRS forms from 2009 are the most recent available as public records.
Maybe hate is too strong a word, but there certainly seems to be anti-gay (or you can split hairs and say anti-gay-marriage) sentiment more or less codified within the organization.
