Clay Aiken rips Adam Lambert...

Why are you always so hostile to people who don't share yours?
Get over yourself.
In which post was I hostile to anyone? I like myself, and don't choose to get over me. Perhaps it's you who need to get over me?
re: Clay Aiken rips Adam Lambert...#51
Posted: 5/23/09 at 11:30pmHonestly, I really don't really care what Chucky thinks about Adam Lambert.

"Are you related to Cartwheel?"

"Perhaps it's you who need to get over me?"
There would be nothing left but a stain on the sheet.
re: Clay Aiken rips Adam Lambert...#54
Posted: 5/24/09 at 3:04pmWho's hostile? Or was that your idea of wit?

I guess, if you ONLY read the part of the blog that disses on the "Ring of Fire" performance of Adam Lambert, then you might be misled into thinking he was blogging for the purpose of putting down Adam Lambert. If you bothered to read the whole blog, he was making an overall point about what Idol used to be about and what it has devolved into. And I agree.
And no. No relation to CW. But I do know who she is on the clayboard, and her gushing rants there make me puke.
re: Clay Aiken rips Adam Lambert...#56
Posted: 5/24/09 at 10:16pmSo nobody on here even read the whole blog, to get the context of the Adam comments???
re: Clay Aiken rips Adam Lambert...#57
Posted: 5/24/09 at 10:23pmI read the whole blog. The context was that he had next to zero context to base his comments on, and ran with it.

It's true Clay had next to zero context on Adam Lambert, because he was not a regular viewer, nor did he care to be. He made comment on the one performance he happened to see. His point being, that he didn't even HAVE to be a regular viewer of the show to know who the chosen one was this year. I could see Adam was all over the media as the annointed one. He was on the COVER of Entertainment Weekly, BEFORE the show even ended for cripes sake. I don't think that has ever been allowed before. Correct me, if I'm wrong. Many people, not just Clay, could see that the "powers that be" were really pushing for Adam to win. So Clay was happy that the guy, he never even saw perform (a boy next door type), won over the producers choice (a slick, professonal planty type). Anyway that's what I thought the intent of his blog was. It wasn't ABOUT Adam to begin with, even though he was mentioned ( in a rather non PC way). It was about how, in his opinion, American Idol has devolved over the years. It's lost it's focus, and connection to what the American public want. I wonder if Clay is a worster?

I don't think Adam Lambert cares WHAT someone like Clay Aiken has to say about him. I didn't watch the show, only his performances here and there, but he always seemed to be true to himself, ballsy, honest and upfront.
Who knows what Clay Aiken was thinking when he wrote that, he probably was just having a bad day. I don't think he should have said it, but he's still entitled to his opinion. I think it makes him sound jealous but I don't know the guy.
As far as AI "devolving"...heh. Funny.

You think the producers wanted Adam Lambert to win?? If they did, they went about it the wrong way. Having Ryan Seacrest introduce Kris as "the boy next door" and Adam as "the guy-liner," it's not hard guess middle america would vote for after such an introduction.
Why shouldn't/wouldn't Entertainment be "allowed" to write an article on Lambert? He was the front runner because many people (including Simon Cowell) thought he was the best all-around performer (as a singer, I'm inclined to agree that he had the best vocal technique). I don't think they need permission to run an article on a contestant.
re: Clay Aiken rips Adam Lambert...#61
Posted: 5/25/09 at 12:39amEntertainment Weekly did not just "run an article", they gave him a full cover, as if he had already won. Why should they not be "allowed" to do that, BEFORE the end of the show? Gosh, I don't know. I guess, if only, to create a sense of fairness, for the other contestants. Yeah I know, life ain't fair.
re: Clay Aiken rips Adam Lambert...#62
Posted: 5/25/09 at 12:49amyeah, I agree that in the last few years AI has pretty much stuck their favorite out and have been "THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT TO VOTE FOR." Too bad for them, it has backfired the last two years.

JEK,
You seem to have a HUGE stick in your butt about Adam.
What's the problem?
You have to post twice to ask if anyone read the full blog from Clay...
No one here cares what Clay has to say.

For the record, are we even sure that the Idol producers had anything to DO with that EW cover/article? I mean, I guess they probably would have had to give the okay, but other than that I feel like that was all EW. They even tried to pass it off like Adam had given a new interview, but in fact they just pulled quotes from a brief interview he'd done at the top 13 party. So yeah, I don't think the producers ASKED EW to make it just Adam on the cover, or anything like that. I think that was a decision the EW people made on their own, and at most the producers just said "okay" :)
"yeah, I agree that in the last few years AI has pretty much stuck their favorite out and have been "THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT TO VOTE FOR." Too bad for them, it has backfired the last two years."
Yup. But, only ONE year that it backfired actually led to the right person winning
This year, the best person WAS the one the producers got behind, so that backfire wasn't fair.
(Although, mind you that Adam was not the chosen one in the beginning. That was Danny Gokey. The producers/judges only started truly making Adam out as the clear front runner once he had MADE himself the clear front runner on his own. He was always one of the handful of people they supported, but it was really after Black or White, and even more after Tracks of My Tears, that they acknowledged it had become The Adam Lambert Show. Because he had MADE it The Adam Lambert Show :P)

No problem here, Diva. I happen to really like Adam. I thought he had some outstanding moments during the show. I thought his voice was amazing most times, and on occation, a bit irritating. I happen to enjoy Kris's style of singing more. I was under the impression the title of this thread was - Clay Aiken rips Adam Lambert. I am simply discussing the blog. What are you doing in this thread, if you don't care what the man had to say?

I'm just wondering why you are so concerened that we didn't read his blog?
As I said, no one here really likes Clay. I'm was just waiting for Cartwheel to show up.
But I guess she's learned her lesson.

It doesn't matter to me if you read it or not. You don't need to read the whole blog, to make a remark about it. Just like Clay didn't need to listen to every Adam Lambert performance, to make a remark about the one he did see. No big deal. I was just trying to discuss the blog. The fact that no one here really likes Clay, shouldn't stop a discussion about what he had to say. I discuss the opinions of people I don't like, all the time.
As to CW, I think she is otherwise occupied on the AI board at the moment. The sh*t has hit the fan on this one, and she is doing clean up duty. The Glamberts are almost as scary as the Claymates. Almost.
re: Clay Aiken rips Adam Lambert...#70

If you are calling me a Glambert, WRONG!
I just worked with him on Wicked and think he's a nice guy with loads of talent.
re: Clay Aiken rips Adam Lambert...#71
Posted: 5/25/09 at 6:54pm(diva, I was just making a joke about the Cartwheel thing)
re: Clay Aiken rips Adam Lambert...#72
Posted: 5/25/09 at 7:01pmSorry, I mean't the Glamberts, who are spazzing out on the AI board. Wasn't refering to you, Diva. Cool that you worked with him. I promise not to call you a Glambert, if you promise not to call me a Claymate. :)

Stockard,
Yes, I got that.
And JEK,
I won't call you a Claymate unless you start acting like one.
You should tell CW that everyone here says....
Well, nothing nice.

The amazingly creepy Clay Akien apologizes (sort of to) to Lambert.
""God knows, I am SURE there are PLENTY of people who can't stand to hear me sing either."
Mr. Aiken, you have no idea.
