Clay is indefensibly off base here. Even the small areas where he makes sense are negated by him fooling himself that Idol wasn't always like that.
eta: Clay apologized. Missed the point of why it was annoying in the first place, and spends too long focusing on the bleeding ears comment. Oh Clay, you never get it.

My take is he is saying based on the performance he saw, he can't imagine he would have enjoyed other performances of Adam's. I look at it this way, if I had only tuned in once during season 6 and I saw SANJAYA singing that hidious song with his faux-hawk, I would probably think to myself that I would not enjoy future performances of SANJAYA.
It wouldn't have anything to do with being gay or not gay. It would have to do with my own personal musical taste.

What I found funny is that Clay said that he watches one random episode each season to see what the set of American Idol looks like each week!!!!!!
Whatever!
You know he watches it every week or records it, and he probably watched videos of the two on youtube or something like that.
Another part that was funny was when he was naming people that he wanted to see more of and he said "More Rubens...More Clays...more Fantasias...More Tamyras...more Kellys"...
So much for being humble!

Oh, dear. Leave it to the queens who, when they have a problem with something (The AI machine, which is--gasp!--phony!), tear into other gays as their scapegoat (Adam Lambert).
The Gaiken is a piece of sh*t. And this coming from someone who really doesn't care about Adam Lamberts career.

Posted: 5/23/09 at 1:16pmI never saw AI and never have seen this Clay Aikman perform except in a one minute clip on the Tube where his voice cracked really bad because he was over-singing to the max. Based on that one minute, he never deserved to be known outside of his special ed choir.

Which is like leaving a show after the overture because you didn't like it.
You know, if the overture sucked, then the whole show must have sucked too.

I was making fun of Clays reason for not liking Adam.
It's like someone posting,I only saw the overture to SHREK and hated it, so I left, because the rest of the show must suck as well.

I guess you have to be on the other side to get it. Let Adam record his album, hit the charts, and tour. Then we'll all hate him. Just give it time, Clay. You're putting the cart before the horse.

He's said, in recent years, that he hasn't watched since season 3. If you don't believe it, I honestly don't think he cares. If I had lost interest in a show that I used to love, I might check it out every once in a while, just to see what it looked like years later. In fact I have done that. I checked in to watch a bit of "er" in it's final season, after not watching it for years. But that's just me.

Of course he is entitled to his opinion, but how much credibility can it have when he says "America got it right" while admitting he only saw one minute of one performance of Adam and not ONE SINGLE SECOND OF A PERFORMANCE of the person who won?
