I am posting this message after certain comments were directed at me & especially my wife yesterday regarding a post I made.

First of all, I choose not to vote. This is my decision . To start throwing names around & casting aspersions is a bit infantile.It is my decision & it was not made lightly. If you disagree, it is your prerogative. You step over the line when you resort to name calling.Dame stepped over it with her remark abut my wife & I eating ****. I would never stoop so low as to bring ones wife/lover/or family into it & especially in a derogatory way.

Dame, you want to name call & start with the white sheet in the closet routine ( a little stale by now ) this shows the type of person you are. You boo hoo re 2 personal messages I sent you. What did you expect, flowers ? You & others on this board always rant on & on about dissent, protest & tolerance. Where is the tolerance for my views or decisions ? Not voting is my protest of politics & the political system. Apparently, if protest does not meet your criteria, you start name calling & labeling people. I expected nothing less from some of you on the board. I was surprised it took as long as it did for Dame to trot out the white sheet in the closet bit.

Unlike certain people, I will fight back when someone starts throwing out names & attacks me & my wife.When you bring wife/lover/family into it, you cross the line. Do that & I will hit you with whatever I can. It shows how bankrupt your positions are when you need to start throwing **** at someones significant other. I will never sink to that level.

You all hate GWB. Fine. Do your thing & vote him out. You want to take pot shots at me, fine. If it floats your boat be my guest. Let's at least have some civility. If you can make a promise to direct your venom at me & leave others out of it, we will have made real progress. I will never sink to your level but are you capable of taking the high road. In the past, certain posters took pot shots at her. I defended her than & will continue to do so. She did nothing to you & you do not know her ( or me for that matter ) so leave her out of it. Bring her or my family into it, I can be as nasty and vicious as you have been. Direct your venom at me & I will either answer you civily or ignore you.. These are the ground rules I play by now.

I know , up until election day, the rhetoric will be brutal.I will stay out of the battle unless my ground rules are broken. Lay into GWB as I do not care. To me everything is fair game.I know many of you hate my guts ( without ever meeting me ) . Do I care ? Nope. Another reason I quit politics is that it brings out the worst in people. This board is a prime example of this behavior. I have never seen such hate from people who espouse peace & love & ask for tolerance. Many friendships have ended over political discussions. I have a low regard for politicians in general be they GWB, Lurch, Orca ( Ted Kennedy) The original Man in The White Sheet ( Senator Byrd). You are so blinded by hate & & when politics does that to people, I say adios to politics. You can not debate your positions so you resort to name calling. I respect all political views even those I disagree with. The difference is you cannot & will not.

I suffer from a physical condition that is slowly deteriorating my muscles. It is not life threatening but serious none the less. I advised Namo of it & his compassion lasted about 2 weeks if I recall. I regularly send private messages to people who no longer post. They told me the reason they wash their hands on this board was viciousness like what Dame exhibited last night. They gave up on this board like they did on the old board

Well that is it. attack me & I will ignore you or answer you. Attack my wife & I will send you a private message. It is really simple. The ball is in your court folks. What happens now is up to you.

Well to be fair you did once post that your wife said of me "Fcuk him and the horse he rode in on." Unless it was a misquote, she can toss off the salty lingo with the best of em.

There really is nothing new in your tome, though I appreciate the effort you made to write it. You always make these blanket statments about people expecting tolerance and nobody tolerating you and you say how you respect opinions that you don't agree with and then you say that others don't. You said that about me many times, and now you are saying it about the others.

Many times I have responded directly to things you have said, to clairfy my intentions and to show you that I am not an intolerant rat bastard. And 90% of the time you've never even bothered to acknowledge that I have done so. So, just to prove that I am not like you in that way, I have responded to your direct question with this reply. See, now I'm on the high road! And maybe the problem IS more with you than with those you disagree with. Honestly, you declare a LOT of people personas non grata. Nobody else does that around here.

Course when I suggested that maybe the problem was you earlier today you told me to "fcuk myself in Macys window." SEE how tolerant you are???

I think people respond to the personas people craft online. I don't know if you're aware of it, but you bring up "your wife" a LOT in your posts. "My wife and I will see Prymate and decide for ourselves." Things like that. I think there are times when you can be absolutely infuriating and if I were infuriated and only reacting to the persona you have crafted I may have thrown in an insult to you and your wife because you so often include a reference to her that it'd be like referring to Stiller without Meara. Granted we all do that, but it feels off, somehow.

And frankly, in an era when the "sanctity" of heterosexual marriage is being defended by conservative elements as a way to deny rights to gay people and not let them get married, coming from a formerly conservative now self-proclaimed apolitical man such as yourself, the "my wife" stuff can push some buttons that are redolent of heterosexual privlege.

The thing is, Roxy, it's VERY clear that your constant references to your wife are just a reaction to that stuff, and that's why it feels kinda homophobic. And see, when you're from the majority culture, as you are, you might miss what it feels like to be barraged by that stuff ALL THE TIME for your WHOLE LIFE. So, maybe here you're seeing what it feels like to be the outsider for once.

Still no answer but at least you were civil. I will give you that. Thanks for that. I guarantee if we ever met face to face we could have a rational discussion . We probably would not agree on much but I think you can at least be reasonable . Re others, time will tell.

You are something else. For those of you reading this with no idea what he is talking about. He is refering to a thread titled WE MUST GET RID OF BUSH. I wrote it from my desk at work after a conversation I had with a dear friend that left this morning to Iraq. Mr Roxys response to me infuriated me. And taking into account all the other garbage he has written on this board and all the nasty pm's he has sent not only to me but to others; I don't take a thing back. And Mr Roxy; the comment about your wife; as cruel as it may sound or a vulgar as it may seem was meant as a dig at you. Not her. I don't know the woman. Only the way you have constantly represented each other on this board. Still I take nothing back. NOTHING.

It is not up to me. I did not start it with the "eat ****" remark. All I said was I do not vote & the **** hit the fan. Go figure.

I am sorry about her friend but I am not responsible. Me voting or not voting will not change anything. Even if Kerry gets in ( as it now appears will happen ) he is not going to cut & run

I will remember her friend in my prayers & light a candle for him if that type of effort does not offend her. All she needs do is send me his or her name in a personal message & on Sunday I will light a candle for his or her safe return even if she does not take back what she said. Despite what she & others may think I am not vindictive.

i really shouldnt get into this, but im going to anyway; mr roxy, you took something i said wrong once (i said "everyone's a little bit racist", which is a song from avenue q, and you thought i was refering to you, remember?) and you sent me a pretty nasty pm. then when i explained what i meant you did at least, apologize. that proves that you can be rational, but also that you can blow things out of proportion every now and then. not that you dont have a right to defend youself if you feel attacked, but is starting an entirely different thread on the subject to display your moral superiority entirely necessary?

and i know this may provoke an entirely differnet argument but... it is your duty as a US citizen to vote, a lot of people died so that you would have that right. i dont mean to offend, or preach, but as one who has always been to young to vote, i feel it is very important to take it seriously and make a decision, however difficult that may be.
