Cleo Laine is an amazing performer and unbelievable talent. Her voice is perfection and she has such a great ability to find and bring out the heart and soul of any song she sings.

I just recently heard the Porgy & Bess recording she made with Ray Charles for the first time; Cleo’s “Strawberry Woman” gives me goose bumps (the good kind!).

Check out her daughter Jacqui Dankworth. She also has experience with Sondheim roles (Into The Woods and Merrily We Roll Along). She has a beautiful voice, and has several solo recordings.

my friends from the Cleo Laine facebook group got together & sent me a Dame Cleo FunPak!!!
it included the new Cleo Laine & John Dankworth cd boxset (with *gorgeous* photos!), the feature on them from HELLO! magazine (scanned above), the LEGENDS! documentary about them on dvd & a cdr of mp3s from their BBC concert series LIVE AT THE STABLES!!!!
i am a lucky feller!!!
